Well, they're far, far more valuable than tickets. Understandable from that standpoint.

Agree, pathetic. Season ticket holder since the early 80's, letter winner in 1973. Kept renewing when lots were jumping ship. We usually got a letter during the summer regarding price increases. Oh, but wait, I might get to see the basketball team play Northern-Southwestern-Missouri, for free. Might be the straw the broke this old man's back.

Just a FYI, but I was listening to Gary Henderson on the radio last night. He said they anticipate breaking ground on the new baseball stadium in June. My understanding is that it is going to go where the current Purple Lot is. Point being, parking passes are going to continue to be difficult to obtain, and will also continue to escalate in price.

The UK admin continue to drive a wedge between the fans and the program. This is the only commodity they have, and really one of the only reasons a lot of people still went to games (to tailgate) so it's just a matter of time before they price it out of range for the normal fan who doesn't show up at all. Those are also the people that you won't get back. It's pathetic.
I kind of agree with you... One thing for certain... The reasons why someone elects to purchase a season ticket are few compared to the reasons why someone drops out.... And once they're gone, they're gone.... Mitch is the AD... Certainly he knows what he's doing, right?............... Perhaps there is a demographic that MB hopes to tap to fill parking lots and 60K CWS seats?

While on the subject of parking.... Is there parking somewhere that has buss service to and from the stadium? Guy told me you could park at Rupp and use a bus shuttle to and from????

I just put in my deposit for two seats for the upcoming season. I won't be getting a parking pass, but i'm excited to be a new season ticket holder (and hope I can get some decent seats when i get to choose in June).

From the tone of the previous posters, you may have your pick of the stadium - except for my seats.

No joke. I have to admit.... there's a small portion of the fanbase that seems to wallow in their collective misery when it comes to football and they seem to love nothing more than complaining on message boards. Hopefully one of these folks allows me to get some good seats when I get to choose my two seats come June.

so it's just a matter of time before they price it out of range for the normal fan who doesn't show up at all.
Pretty sure they have smart people looking at this and are charging the right price to sell all parking passes while making the most revenue possible. And they have waiting lists for the passes now or I think from what I've heard.

when demand is greater than supply the prices go up /Econ101

The thing I'm surprised hasnt caused a bigger hissy fit among the usual on this site is the rumored (or reality?) change of charging for the large grassy areas around the stadium. All the people who bring their reunion-sized tents & buffets setups cannot do so for free anymore, those locations are going to be sold just like parking.

I just checked. My parking pass now requires a $100 "parking donation" Oh well. What's another $100?

Mine is $280 + $300, $580 is getting ridiculous $83 dollars to park each game. I could damn near have a limo drop us off. They know they have by the nads. I'm close to buying a 90" curve and have everyone over to my place each week. After last years ending and they took have of our parking asses away, we are probably losing half my group, most of which have been going since the late 80s.

My tickets also dropped. I'm in section 203 and in row 11 and they went from 320 (8x40 a game) what I was expecting ( 7x40). Turns out my section are "value seats" and are only 210 (7 x 30 a game) So I'm gonna save 330 bucks this year.

I park at the hunter Presbyterian church for the season (15 a game) and they keep my (across from central baptist hospital) spot until game time. It's about a five to ten minute walk, with easy in and out of stadium

I am just going to sit out the season ticket deal this year and just go to a few games that I want to see. If you throw out two complete garbage games (Austin Peay and N. Mex State), I am basically being asked to pay $1500 for five games, and that is being charitable when you consider that includes S. Miss and Vandy (which is almost never even close to a sellout when we play them in Lexington). Next year's home schedule is much more attractive, so I may buy back in 2017.

I suppose it is possible that that team will be so good that I won't be able to get back in section 28 where I have been (in one form or the other) for a number of years . . . but I seriously doubt it. And if by chance the team is so good that I can't get the tickets I want, well then, that is a problem I could certainly live with. :)

This is inline with my thinking. I just can't justify cost. My wife and kids have zero interest and I can buy from a scalper cheaper than buying season tickets for folks that don't want to go.

I'm really looking forward to all the leg room I will have in the stadium and tailgating in the big vacant lots this fall...
I know you're trying to be funny, but that is exactly what this program doesn't need right now. We need the stadium packed and the parking lots too.

Major college FB and BB games: One of the few areas where the acceleration of cost exceeds the that of health care! :sunglasses: :sunglasses: :sunglasses: :sunglasses:

Gave up season BB tickets, that I held since Rupp opened, in mid 2000s and season FB tickets and parking pass, that I held since Commonwealth opened, in 2010. Still a UK fan. But, price got too rich, drive got too long, and schedules got too watered-down for me.

IMHO, major college administrations have priced FB tickets, and at some schools BB tickets, out of the reach of ordinary fans. Some call it simply supply-and-demand economics, but I call it gouging in the same sense that the OPECers and major oil companies have gouged the public for petroleum products for decades.

Fortunately, as the oil cartels are now finding out, the "birds eventually come home to roost". With college athletics it will likely take awhile before this occurs, because, IMHO, there are still a plenty of fans out there with more money than brains when it comes to the price they are willing to pay. :sunglasses:

I will attend a couple maybe 3 games this upcoming season. Can get $10 tickets outside CWS just before kickoff.
