I’ve seen enough to know that Pat Kelsey cannot get the job done. His roster construction is a serious problem. He uses analytics and that’s why his teams will never win anything. His team plays soft and he is NOT the man for the job —- I’ve already seen enough. Who do you think the Cards should replace Kelsey with?

UL are at least in on recruits and it’s crickets as far as anything about UK and recruiting. Been following recruiting for many a year and this is as quiet as I can remember…sad

The biggest issues with our team is

1.) we cant shoot and its 2025

2.) our best player was recruited knowing he wouldnt play until near the time conference games start

No, the biggest issues are that we are poorly coached, not prepared to play and don’t play hard.

Just playing hard for one half against IU made all the difference.

Can they do that again? History says doubtful. We did a walk thru in MSG last season and this season. We did a walk thru in Bridgestone last season and this season.

We should win Sat and I think we will. But it will be ugly and mainly just because St Johns is not very good.

If we can keep it close Pitino will fold.

I don’t know if you caught the memo but UL is not the best all time program that our fans want to maintain our spot. As far as l know pat Kelsey hasn’t made any ff much less an elite 8. But in his second year his team is better than year one. That’s what good coaches do. They get better every year. They get their players every year. UK fans can be irrational in the moment but we know better than anyone what it takes to win. We have watched titles by 5 different coaches. We have seen every system you can imagine. I’ll finish with this. Players don’t want to play for UK right now. This season should have been top 3 no brainer. When we open the coffers like we did this year especially after pope whiffed. You gotta be a salesman to be successful in cbb. When you’re Mormon and your home state is Mormon and you’re getting all the Mormon kids you don’t have to recruit at byu. Pope said he couldn’t land kids bc of the rules there. Well his successor is having no problem. Pope is no salesman that’s like quality 1 especially at Kentucky. A great salesman with a big ego. That’s what UK needs to get players to win the guy needs to know his X’s and O’s too. Pope is so so. Average for a college coach. He’s the working fit. This isn’t UL. UL has like 6 fans who care.

What I heard was a bunch of context and nuance. We don’t do context and nuance around here, buddy. If you aren’t begging for Kelsey’s job, you’re wrong.

I've seen enough. Maybe it is his leprechaun physique or his weird pacing, but he obviously can't get recruits. And the NIL structure they set up is way too restrictive. I want to discuss pearl or oats or pitino replacing him, preferably right after Christmas break.

Kelsey has an offensive philosophy that schemes without plays. They space ands race, it seems.
The only plays he runs are inbounds plays underneath their own basket. They have seven (7) of them.
The reliance on the three-point shot is on the radical side and is not ideal for winning six (6) straight games in late March.
His players seem to love him, his approach and the freedom he gives them. Most of BBN would love him as coach, I suspect.
A former point guard, he is fifty (50) years old and from Cincinnati.
