I know, I must live under a rock. Yesterday is the first time I ever heard of this. What says the NSB? Did Paul die in 1966 in a fiery car crash after picking up a young lady while on LSD? If so, what logical reason would there be for the cover up? Also, were John and George silenced for trying to tell the truth?

There was a very small group of "conspiracy" types who thought Paul had died back in the 60's and replaced by a look-alike. I remember one of the "tell-tale" signs was that on the Abbey Road Album cover, he's shown walking barefoot, which I guess is some sort of symbol in England for being dead.
But the whole thing started up again within the last year when some British publication, similar to the Onion, concocted a fake interview with Ringo Starr who supposedly "fessed up" and finally admitted that McCartney was dead and that they had recruited another person to play the part of McCartney. It was all tongue-in-cheek, but like so many Onion stories, people read it and believed it and the 50 yr old conspiracy theory blew up again.

I think the whole theory is completely ridiculous for a couple of reasons. First off, if Paul had died suddenly, what are the chances that they could find someone who looked just like him and sounded just like him that would allow them to successfully pull off the switch? Extremely unlikely. Secondly, let's say they did find the right guy. I would assume that the reason for doing this would be to continue the momentum that had led to their worldwide popularity, and not take a chance that replacing Paul would lead to loss of interest. If that were the case, why would they drop all these hints that it had happened and increase the chances that fans would figure it all out? It has always seemed pretty obvious that they were just trolling everyone to increase fan discussion involving The Beatles. Any kind of publicity is good publicity.

A rumor like that is marketing gold. Conspiracy theories about bands are nothing unique to the Beatles. Just ask Elvis who is obviously still alive. Or Jim Morrison and the rest of "Club 27" who all faked their deaths to escape the spotlight.

Those are obviously ridiculous rumors. He would choke to death in his sleep with that procedure done, and everyone knows that the lizard men only take the human form of people named Clinton, Kennedy and Bush when advancing their plans to enslave humanity.
Gene himself of course would never deny these rumors, as he probably senses a profit margin in the speculation.
I'm sure Gene loves all the rumors and attention, however a sublingual frenectomy is actually a pretty common procedure. Singers have it done because they think it helps them shape their tongues and Asian people have it because they think it helps them pronounce the English language. Having your tongue hang down below your chin is a side benefit.

I've been in a tribute band for 10 years, which has put me in contact with hundreds of other tribute artists around the country.
Finding guys who sound, play and look like someone as well known as a left handed Beatle is literally impossible.
There are some great, touring professional Beatles tribute bands out there who sound tighter-than-the-Beatles perfect, but even those guys only look kinda right when viewed from a distance.
