To me, this is a "that's the way the mop flops" situation. Let's not try to turn this into a "right to an equal outcome" situation. It doesn't deserve to be.
NMMI includes both high school and junior college (I just looked it up). I don't agree with his claim; rules are rules and they weren't unfairly applied.
They have to draw the line somewhere right? At what point does someone get a backbone and tell these players that they don’t get to have their way about every single thing.
Obviously, he’s not NFL caliber so he wants another year of eligibility to transfer somewhere else for a bigger NIL deal for his last year.
One thing is for sure - every angle is going to get litigated to establish a new baseline. Many more of these lawsuits to come; question is from which angle next?
If this goes through, about the only thing left for them challenge is academic eligibility/requirements. And they would probably succeed in getting all of those removed. They can get paid without limit. They can transfer without limit. They can opt out midseason. All that's left is actually being a student, so it seems that's going to be on the chopping block as well.
