Maybe I’m missing it with hockey and baseball talk, but this is a pretty big thing. He’s a borderline 1st round talent who got pretty good NIL money I’m sure. Am I wrong for thinking potential 1st rounder left tackles should be protected a little bit in the offseason?

Team bonding/comraderie type thing. Coach Beamer has been running it for a couple of years; nothing wrong with expecting a 20ish year old young man to be able to play pick up type basketball but sometimes things happen, as demonstrated. Keeping him or anyone else separate from team activities like a golden calf would probably not be particularly beneficial at any level. It’s easy to criticize after the fact but such is life.

Look there’s nothing wrong with playing basketball, but for the guys who are in the 6’5” 310 range, basketball seems like an accident waiting to happen.

Did you play football lol? If you look at it that way, so are the agility drills these guys go through for football.

A little bit. I don’t know what your case is though after him getting hurt. I mean there’s a lot of NIL money tied up into this I’m sure.
