This is a GREAT pickup.

But we need quite a bit more to rebuild the OL. I'm hoping this the first big OL pickup, not the last.

This is huge. The other two guys may or may not be starters but Sarratt is a good guard. Darius Gray probably has a shot to start now.

I’m not sure there are many more OL prospects in the portal.
Currently 14 with a grade of 88 or higher, and of course there could be some "jewels" in there with lower grades. Some of those 14 are probably not interested but there's an SC kid and others from the southeast that we should be offering, or at least looking at. We'll see.

One thing that I am confident of is that Beamer and staff are working very hard on buidling this roster. I know many will say, and probably correctly, that it is a make or break year for Beamer. I believe it is more than this as CSB has said many times he wants to be here and you can tell he loves this place. I am thankful for his work ethic. As for Bubba Fett's comment about "jewels", we definitely agree and hope we find some. I will always remember reading that a player out of Charlotte (the university) committing to us in the transfer portal a couple of years ago and thinking, Charlotte? Ends up, he is one of the best players and ambassadors USC has had in a football uniform and had a very strong rookie season in the NFL ... yes, Demetrius Knight, Jr. May all of these players that we have never heard of and many from schools that make us scratch our head, end up being much more than we envisioned. Looking forward to many more transfer portal pickups in the next week ahead. Go Gamecocks!

Yeah I don’t get all worked up over the grades and ratings; already seen that. Do they fit your system, do they work hard are more important imo. ‘Coaching’ will improve those yes, to a certain degree, but it doesn’t take an Eddie Arcaro to see whether a horse will run.
