Rick did the same thing. I dont get it. I'd rather lose with my best team on the floor than lose with them on the bench and think "what if".
People talk about Booker and Ulis.. but imagine the narrative if Cal benched the twins against Wisconsin, gave the two freshman the final 5 minutes and we lost. Of course, we didn't win anyways, so its easy to think about giving Ulis a shot.. but hindsight is 20/20. It would have been an awful look if we did that and lost.

Keyshawn Hall said he wanted to play for the best coach out there, Bruce Pearl. Well your best coach out there just got beat by his assistant Todd Golden. The best coach would have had his best guard on the floor the last 4 minutes.

Two calls that went in favor of Florida at the end that was wrong- that out of bounds call under two minutes where it went out on the Florida player’s shorts but they kept it their ball. They got away with a travel up 77-73 in the corner.
Wouldn’t have mattered and I’m glad they lost but those two went their way.
The play they fouled Condon out on was a beautiful block!

Auburn played the last 10-15 minutes of the game like a stupid, selfish, lazy and undisciplined church league team.
Auburn has better players but Florida was the better team.
Auburn came into the tournament losers of 3 of their last 4. I'm surprised they made it as far as they did. Lot of attention seekers on that team. If you saw the UF locker room after the win, Clayton (34 points) had the Florida label to advance on the big board, and gave it to a teammate. That's what a leader does.

Golden completely ****ed with him by showing he was going to foul Dylan Cardwell when UF was up 3 late and still had 2 fouls before the double bonus so Auburn pulled him from the game and put in D-2 Chaney Johnson who was a Pearl "favorite".
Denver Jones is supposed to be a great defender and time/time again he gets torched late in games-specifically they lost in the last Month. He's a 90% FT shooter who missed 2 FT's tonight as well. Those points come in handy late in a tight game no matter when they are missed.
Pearl had a team built to run but their problem is their big guy was too out of shape and banged up to run in Broome. He's one of the more overrated players I've seen in terms of being named a POY in the Conference that was as great as SEC was this year. His chance to fight/claw-2 FT's with team down 3--and he bricked both so badly it was embarrassing. Then he doesn't block out on a missed FT and UF gets it back-ball goes to Clayton Jr and game was over.
Pettiford is built to play like UF/UK/Bama play and Pearl makes him play stall ball. It's brutal. He got an elite PG and that helped him get to Final Four but he didn't trust him to make the plays when they were needed and it cost him.
I picked UF. Felt they were the better team but felt Pearl coached this game into a losing situation tonight. Especially when you have an opportunity to have Broome out--run and play faster.
