Looks like Utah is also firmly in the Top 10 in the final Associated Press Poll.

TCU at #2? Seriously. Losing two of last three games and one of those by 58 points. Got it. I can only imagine where Penn State would be ranked had they done that..... in any year. Case in point : 1978 season #1 Penn State loses to #2 Alabama in closely contested Sugar Bowl. Falls to #4.

Maybe a team has to be ranked higher than nine or ten to be "firmly"in the top ten. Just a guess on my part.

Okay, Penn State is firmly in the top 10, but not a firm top 7.

Looking at the list, I don't know who should be ranked ahead of Utah. Maybe FSU - but Utah has better wins and won a conference. I think it is good as PSU can now claim a victory over a top 10 team.

And if you watched them beat USC, you know it was a quality State win. So happy for 14.

I was quite surprised that Michigan was not #2.

You fecking ejits will never be happy!!  🤷‍♂️ I think 11-3 and a #7 finish is a solid season. Get over that we haven't beat scUM and O$U for a while, I remember way back when we didn't always beat those punk arse teams!! Anyway, I am excited for next season which hasn't happened in over a decade.
11-2, not 11-3.

For grins and giggles, if you have time, go see the final ballots from the coaches at the USAToday site. Some of those coaches hold grudges, and some are, shall we say, off kilter.

For example, Dana Dimel from UTEP has PSU 7th, behind... wait for it... Utah at 6. Apparently he also holds some animus for TCU, dropping them to ... 9!

All the ballots here:
