Apparently a CBS Reporter named Brandon Marcello broke this story about 2 hours ago. The CBS Reporter absolutely claims his sources are good and reliable..... and Smith his interviewing for the permanent role (according to a pay-to-view 24/7 Report).
I'd think it's an obvious move to give him an interview. Though I probably would have done it during the pre-OSU bye week (maybe they didn't have the search committee in place yet).

He absolutely did not. He held a PC regarding Franklin's firing and why.... he promised a home-run hire that would deliver b1g and National Championships. Smith was never named as an alternative or interviewed (and in fact Krafty The Clown;s PC statements clearly excluded Smith as an alternative. Smith was named Interim HC because he was the named Associate Head Coach by Franklin way back in 2016.
In a Oct 13th press conference Pat Kraft said that Terry Smith was absolutely a candidate for the Head Coaching job so ….. there’s that….
Kraft said Terry Smith would absolutely be under consideration to be next PSU coach at the press conference.

Yea, horrific comments...I prefer my AD to state his goals as being winning records and finishing in the top half of the conference when asked.

So you're telling me that Smith is lying here about Kraft ever telling him that he was a candidate for the job - to the point where Smith felt it necessary to go public with his demands that he be considered (and he made these very public demands both last week and this week following the end of the games} - I doubt that Smith would be making these very public statements and demands that he be considered two consecutive weeks if his words weren't falling on deaf-ears inside PSU's AD Department.
Yes he said it, as he should have done. At the very least, Terry Smith deserves the chance to be interviewed for the job.
I heard Smith say he had not been interviewed for the job…. That doesn’t mean Kraft doesn’t consider him a candidate? Kraft letting Smith focus on the job in front of him actually makes some sense to me.

You clearly haven't read Smith's comments on the topic after the last 2 games.... Who do you suppose his "This is my locker room." statement to the Press was aimed at? If you don't understand that it was aimed squarely at Krafty..... well, you just aren't all that perceptive.

Kraft said that Terry would be considered for the job. He didn't specifically state that Terry would get a formal interview, but that's kind of implied if you say you are considering someone for a role.
I thought a poster here stated that Terry had an interview last week?

In his press conference when asked if Terry would be considered for the job, Kraft responded that yes he would. This is a fact. Terry said he hadn't been interviewed as of the post game presser last week. That doesn't mean it wasn't going to happen at all given that the search is not over. Kraft sees Terry work on a daily basis, he's going to learn more from that than any interview anyway. Terry didn't make any public demands, he was asked a question and he answered it.
Nothng new about that. An interim coach is interviewing for a job.
I am far from a Kraft fan but you need to give it up; Smith saying that he has not had a formal job interview is not the same thing as not getting one.

You know I don’t want to claim be an insider, but I said about 40 years ago that a wall would come down. I didn’t want to name the wall or else I’d lose my sources inside the wall community, but I can share now that I was in fact talking about the Berlin Wall.
I think AK would probably gone. JK maybe stays. Pure speculation.

AK problem is he wants to win like Michigan in 2023 and you better have an elite elite elite defense, multiple pro RBs, stud OL etc.
I think there are more ways to move the ball easier in college than being so run play action dependent.
