I remember TV Quarterbacks on PBS (I think). Joe and Fran Fisher with highlights. I lived in the Harrisburg area and it was on Sunday evening.

There was also one that ran on Sunday that was an hour long (TKS sports? or TCI sports, something like that). A one hour highlight show with the radio broadcast (George Pateron) doing PBP/Commentary.

Remember those shows? Great stuff.

But the best was the day Panther Pride went off the air. Hillgrove looked like he was going to pass on right on the set.

I would have loved to have seen that. Franklin doesn't do a TV show does he? I don't think Narduzzi does.

Another howl was Panther Hotline. One call I remember was a young man who called in about Johnny Majors.

Pitt had just been crushed again and the guy says "What's next for Jonny Majors? National spokesperson for Metamucil?"

I was laughing so hard I almost went off the road!

This was surprisingly harder to find than I thought, and I can’t say I’m still 100% on this, but the person doing the voice over may be Charles Dumas, a former professor at Penn State, and seemingly contributor to WPSU who did most of the production of the show. The credits either didn’t roll a lot during the end of these episodes, or they were cut off in the video clips. Probably a combination of both.

Full versions of the Penn State Football Story are surprisingly hard to find online (you can find most of the football highlights, narrated by Guy Junker (Alum, Former Pittsburgh Sports personality and now Public Address for the Pirates), Charles seems to do the voice work in the beginnings of the Unrivaled version of the PSFS.

I searched out clips of Charles Dumas speaking on YouTube and that intro is definitely him. Great find!
