Very entertaining match.

I felt UNL definitely was on 100% effort full-tilt from the jump. Gave PSU everything they had for all 10 matches. Everything you'd want to see in a dual between 2 quality squads...... that match will help both teams moving forward.

Some great individual battles and high-energy matches. That was fun.

Best match in a long time. Loved Nebby 285 going for it.

feel bad for Davis and Van nasty but they will learn and get better. Watching Iowa is like watching black and white tv

Nebby and PSU was 8k HD TV

No need to feel bad for Davis and SVN. It’s a journey. They’ll learn from it and be ready in March when it really counts. People need to also acknowledge that Ridge Lovett is a top level wrestler who can beat anyone and is a title contender. He has been for awhile, but somehow flies under the radar.

technically, I'm sure Carver was sold out. Go watch the replay, there were plenty of empty seats visible in the stands. Actual attendance was clearly not a capacity crowd.

I respectfully disagree. Over the past several years, they have wrestled very defensively at a majority of weights vs PSU. Not every weight, but many. It was nice to see them open it up and actually be offensive last night. Whole meet was entertaining.

Agree Lovett was the better wrestler tonight. Van Ness looked fine in pd 1. Really slowed down uncharacteristically in pd 2 and got dominated in pd 3. This was very un-Van Ness-like. Lovett did something unusual to throw off Van Ness to slow his attacks and/or Van Ness was not 100%. I look forward to seeing a potential rematch at B10's. Lovett is very good and likely top half of the podium at end of season if stays healthy.

Interesting take…his only loss this year was by a takedown to the #1 ranked 133 in the country, he beat Nasir Bailey who took 4th last year and is the returning B10 champ (as a true freshman). He didn’t look right last night, if I had to guess, he’s battling something. Maybe sick or that knee injury.

Tickets & passes sold & distributed is how EVERY school reports official attendance. Back when the CDT actually had a staff capable to cover local news and events, they would print the actual attendance as reported to fire and safety. It was always less than the official attendance for football, basketball, etc.

I get it Manatree. The on-air statement "Iowa has another sell-out" is just a form of gaslighting by BTN and common occurrence in media. I'm just pointing out that last night Nebraska packed the arena and Iowa didn't. For the meets at Rec Hall, I don't remember any in recent years that were not at or near capacity with the exception of those impacted by nasty weather.

That's inaccurate (what Byers said). I think it stems from the fact that in middle school and high school for duals, they do draw to select which weight to start the match. In college, they don't draw -- they flip the coin as I indicated in my earlier reply.

However it’s selected, I prefer to start matches at a weight other than 125.

We will have to agree to disagree. They are sitting in the crowd. They can see with their eyes attendance is not close to capacity. They can repeat a half-truth, that doesn't make it an honest representation of crowd size. Revenue taken in - yes. All seats sold -yes. Present and witnessing - no.

Exactly. Being sold out, and full attendance two totally different things.
