Penn State-Ohio State Predictions: Can Lions upset Buckeyes for the first time since 2016?

I didn't think there was any way Iowa could beat Ohio State.
This game makes me nervous.
This game makes me nervous, too. Every game nowadays makes me nervous, even if it were playing Iowa.

PSU has had a handful of years where the team seemed invincible. It’s nice to go into a game knowing that it would be an accident if you lost.

Hopefully PSU get the OSU team that played ND then they might have a chance for the upset.

Turkeys can fly?
They sure can. I was kayaking a few years ago and these two huge birds flew across the river about 50 feet in front of us. We were very surprised, but damn if they weren’t turkeys. Flew at least 200 feet.

Alrighty. With this information, I’ll try to interpret your post in the most positive light possible.

Can we? Yes, of course. Will we? Possible, if everything breaks our way.

Last time PSU won against tOSU they were 19.5 dogs so yes it's "possible". Need a clean game from the O (0 turnovers), big play on D and special teams has to occur. Need to somehow win the turnover battle and keep the crowd in the game throughout. DL needs it's best game of the year and they need to get to Stroud. As good as the DB's are, their WR's are as good if not better so you cannot give him time to find them. Easier said than done...hoping for the best at peace already with the rest.

For as much talk as there has been on Cliff, Allar, or Franklin....it's Manny time. You have the #2 team in the nation coming to your house....what you got for them? He laid an absolute egg in Ann Arbor, so it's on him to right that wrong.

Absolutely, Penn State can beat the Buckeyes! And the Yankees can beat the Astros! And Russia will roll right through Ukraine! And as God is my witness, I thought turkeys could fly!

How do you not know that turkeys can fly?

He was doing a bit from WKRP in Cincinnati. (Well known, but you never know.) I was playing along, myself.
Well, then, how in the world did WKRP in Cincinnati not know that turkeys can fly?

They can fly much, much farther than that (more like glide).

Looks like perfect weather for Saturday so that takes away one factor that I thought might keep PSU in it. I was kinda hoping for weather like the NW game and maybe that might slow down their offense. I agree with @LaJollaCreek -- this one is for the defense. They've gotta keep us in the game and force some turnovers and get Stroud out of a comfort zone. Also, OSU has played one road game all year (at Sparty, not hostile) so hopefully the crowd can make it uncomfortable early like they did with Minnesota. But considering this is a big game and Franklin is coaching, I have zero expectations of PSU coming out on top.

I'm drawing a blank but when has PSU beaten OSU without a great defensive performance? Even the down year they had with Fickle we didn't really blow them out. If they don't get to Stroud and slow the run, it's game over because PSU generally doesn't put up big numbers against tOSU. If the D is getting trucked early it will be another long ugly day. The defense has to rise up for any shot.

OSU is converting 53% of their third down attempts and holding their opponents to 25% on third down conversions. Yikes!
I've watched them play a few times this year and their defense seems a lot better than their 2021 defense. But come to think of it, they couldn't have gotten any worse - and no way to go but up - as that 2021 defense was a disaster.

‘94. The best defense is a killer offense.

How can the staff be so negative? Jeez... not one single prediction to win Sat. They act like we are Rutgers or something

I'd love to see another repeat of the '94 game with Cliff playing the role of Collins

The pessimistic me says:

14-10 at half time, PSU on top. OSU puts up 24 points in 3rd qtr, start of 4 qtr 14 - 34 bad guys, Day then runs up score to stay high up in the rankings, 2 more TDs in 4t qtr, 14 - 48 final score.

The optimistic me says:

21-20 at half time, PSU on top. 28-28 end of 3rd Qtr, 35-35 with 6 seconds left and Pinegar hits a 52 yarder for the upset.

The realist in me says:

Drink heavily, its going to be a looooooong day.
