Penn State Roar Tour Events: No food provided?

My wife and I used to regularly attend Penn State road football games, and we would attend mixers on Friday night and pregame pep rallies on Saturday. The alumni association provided free food and beverages at these events.

We are debating whether to attend the mixer this Friday night and the pregame pep rally on Saturday. For the mixer, the event description says that food and drinks will be available for purchase. The Saturday pep rally says nothing about food and drinks, so I assume that nothing will be offered.

When did this change? A school like Penn State should be able to feed its alums. They used to do it. I guess all the cash money is going to NIL. o_O and the coaches.

Light snacks and refreshments were on offer at Roar Tour in Columbus. Cookies and coffee, tea and hot chocolate as I recall. We didn’t go to the mixer as it conflicted with PSU-OSU hockey.

Thanks. It would make sense for the Roar Tour event on Saturday to have food, but the event page for rutgres says nothing.

I think this changed a few years back. Not sure who the AD was at the time, but post-Curley.
Outward appearances... staff size growing exponentially, and salary expenses going up accordingly, fewer freebies for the donors. Not saying it's causal, but bad appearance coincidental at least.
In the good old days, NLC service to donors was consistently very good. I've never needed to contact them often, but their level of service, including communications, is rather inconsistent now, imo.
