What is depicted in the middle of the seal? Click on the image to enlarge.

I recognize the sailing craft but don't know the two other things appearing below the ship. The third thing looks like three mushrooms

More questions..

What are the things hanging onto the words "virtue" and "independence". Headless cupids?

And the tails of the horses resemble birds. Why would a bird be illustrated to look like it was pecking a horse on the arse? 🤷‍♀️

Both PSU and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania use this seal. The ship and the plow and the wheat are to symbolize the commence, industry and agriculture of the state. PSU was founded to support the business and agriculture in the Commonwealth. This is why we have B&I and Ag members of the BOT. Only we used to have B&I members from professional organizations. We still have AG members elected by AG organizations. Now outgoing B&I members nominate their replacement.

I'm pretty sure the thing under the ship is an old fashion plow. The mushrooms are shocks of wheat.
I am allergic to wheat and now I am offended and outraged that the seal contains something that could kill me and I am going to send a strongly worded letter to get it removed. 😂 😂 😂 🤷‍♂️
