It's a bit early to say that.has it wrapped up now
Gotta get better, their guys are smoking us
Comoletely over at this point. 133 and 57 have double digit seeds tonight and they could easily put 5 in the finals.
Not sure what it's gong to take to pass these guys but right now there is Penn Statr and then there is everybody else.
Beckman has been known to shine at nationals he's done it twice now to make the podium guy knows how to win when it matters most don't count him outComoletely over at this point. 133 and 57 have double digit seeds tonight and they could easily put 5 in the finals.

I am going to keep my hopes up until it is official.
If we can win all of our blood round matches we will make a big jump. We will get advancement plus placement points. We still have the highest potential points, of course that is 3 firsts and 5 thirds. We are 22 1/2 points behind, what scenario wins it, we don't lose another match?
Cael is a beast of a coach , the three years he coached at Iowa state his teams won the big 12 every year and since his starting in his 2nd year at Penn state he's won six ncaas in a row (counting this year)
go poach an assistant off their team or something
McIntosh is Cali, coming in are hall of Minnesota, and Manville of Virginia.
3 of the 5 finalists. PA is the best HS state. They gave so many great kids.Don't disagree but the studs winning/got them to this point are by and large home grown pa guys
Oops I thought they didThey didn't win last year
They didn't win last year
One could argue that that's why you redshirt freshmen.Brock down and out and smith getting dinged up hurt us for sure
Maybe I'm misreading what you are saying, but trying to understand that statement. I certainly believe in RS'ing freshmen as much as possible, but don't know if one of my primary reasons is risk of injury. Injury can occur at any time in your career. I like RS'ing for strength/conditioning, and for young guys to develop mat offense (top and bottom). Too many phenoms come out of high schools having almost never seen the second period of a match, and lack the necessary mat skills to AA their true freshman year because of that. One could argue that that's why you redshirt freshmen.
Agree Penn State has it wrapped up. No idea how they keep getting these top recruits with 9.5 scholarships but Cael has done it every year since he has been at Penn State and they are a LOT better than we are as a team.
OSU with Brock and a healthy smith and Crutchmer would be a hell of alot more dangerous for penn state this year.

Where the heck does psu get the scholarship money? Out of state tuition can't be cheap. It's pretty much got to be true that they cheat, right?
He is at Sem, but he if from Virginia, he was in Minnesota training with the storm last year, Blair the year before that.I think Manville is going to Wyoming Seminary in Pa.
PSU has had highly rated classes including first this year and 2 years ago. Not sure I would say you pulled Johnson out of gym class, he chose FB over wrestling, so you pulled a 2 time PA state champ off of the FB team. He was just undersized and not in wrestling shape.Simple. PSU went after higher end wrestlers but has less depth on their team. PSU probably had lower rated combined classes than OSU, OkState and Iowa over the last 5 years. A number of PSU's backups are walk ons. They even had a walk on AA a couple years ago. I think it was English. THey also had Volrath who had a great record when one of the Alton's went down. I think he might have been undefeated in the B10 that year and helped them win the Scuffle. PSU has no backup hat 285 or 197. When NEvils went down PSU had to pull a kid out of gym class to wrestle 285.

If you 1,21,1 the actual impact of the 3 classes is much higher than the average. Those 3 classes have 7 in top 10 p4p. You go back to the year they were ranked 17, they still had Retherford. Cael has done a great job developing, but trying to say they have not dominated recruiting is delusional. On this years team ranked in top 10 p4p are nico, gulibon, zain, nolf, nickal, mcintosh and Nevills. In the most recent 2 classes are 4 others in the top 10. No one is near that.PSU also had a couple years outside the top 20. Like I said, the total of the last 5 years. Do you only count two recruiting classes at a time? If you take a composite of the last 5 years then PSU is behind the schools I listed.

I find wrestling recruiting rankings to be among the most worthless things in existence. Take your example here. OSU averaged a ranking of 5.2 (count all 5 and divide by 5) over the last 5 years. tOSU is at 6.8. Iowa 9.2, and PSU is at 10. Anybody think PSU was actually 4th best at recruiting? Rankings are so subjective, and can't take into account how each individual changes once in a college room. I'm just skeptical of these rankings.OKieState: #2, 2, 11, 5, 6
OSU, #6, 5, 10, 12, 1
IOwa, #10, 9, 6, 1, 20.
PSU, #21, 1, 7, 17, 4.
The list is for 2015, 2014, 2013, 2012 and 2011.
