Bucks signed him to a 2-way.
so my understanding is that each NBA team can have 2 players (3?) signed to 2 way contracts. Those guys make $350k a season (roughly) and it is prorated by the # of games played. These guys can shuttle between their NBA team and the G-League affiliate.

The rest of the G-League is just a collection of free agents who make $60k or whatever - but they play for a specific G-League team, with no real ties to that franchise.

So Pete Nance has earned a nice contract relative to his G-League teammates.

Is that basically right?

2-way salary for the full season this year is over $578,000. That's what Pat Spencer has been on all year.

Pete was on a 2-way with Cleveland last year and Philly this season. I think he was waived like 2 weeks ago by Philly so he should still get most of the full salary for the year.

Boo signed a 2-way with the Knicks in early November but was waived in late December, so he's only getting regular G-League money right now with Westchester. I'm not sure why he was waived from the 2-way given that the Knicks currently have 2 empty 2-way slots.

That quite helpful. Thanks. Didn't know Buie had been waived. Its a huge difference between 2-way and regular G-league. One is worth it and the other isn't.

There's a deadline to make the contract guaranteed or waive. It's a decision the teams have to make and save, or not, in the grand scheme of NBA budgets, a few dollars.

Update: Spencer has been upgraded to a full NBA contract as of today, which is double the 2-way salary.

I don't really follow the NBA, can anyone explain to me the Pistons minutes in that game? By which I mean they had 8 guys off the bench and most of them had about 20 minutes of play. One starter had 43 minutes and the next highest play only had 23. Is that kind of spread rotation normal these days? Also, 107 shots taken by the team, wow!

edit: nm, I see now it's just pre-playoffs tom foolery.

yay Pete!

Good luck Pete but he is so soft. Needs to be okay with contact. He is like Ben Simmons lite but can shoot the 3-ball. Pete was horrible with the Sixers earlier in the year.
