Thoughts?

Just reaffirmed to me what a POS he is. Arkansas gave him a standing ovation. If he apologized to Louisville, would we forgive him for a third time?

He’s been hated by everybody everywhere after he leaves his mess. That’s a hard thing to achieve for someone who has never had any recruiting violations or accusations of cheating in football.

Atlanta, Arkansas, Louisville... even WKU ended up much better after he left. Don’t forget him stabbing His former boss in the back who hired him at Auburn, Tommy Tuberville. Heck, he had plenty of clashes with Tom Coughlin when he was an assistant for the Jacksonville Jaguars before Auburn.

I guess he’s seeking some forgiveness (or has a more self serving angle) but I’m just glad he’s gone and so is the mysterious stench that trickled in back in November of 2016. Good luck and good riddance.

Listening to R&R sans Rutherford yesterday, there seems to be an attempt to change the narrative regarding the 2018 season. Not so much by Ramsey, though he did think Petrino's comments were genuine, but the callers defended Petrino by claiming the passing of his father really messed with him, and that his daughter had a difficult pregnancy, which also contributed to his complete lack of doing his job. I'm no psychologist. Maybe those things kill your desire to do your job. I don't know. It seems like the opposite would occur. You'd immerse yourself in your job to keep going, to not dwell. I just know he quit. I'm sure Matt Jones will invite him on his show and they can talk about his feelings.

Winning cures all ills, or something like that. Arkansas hasn't won since Petrino, so forgiveness is understanding. We did the same! let them have him. He's won there before and if what they are saying about his excuses are true, then maybe he rebounds. We had a mess, I'm glad he's gone and I hope we play them on the field someday.

The bottom line on Petrino IMO boils down quality assistants not willing to take his crap anymore. No doubt he has a brilliant football mind but his personality and people skills will probably prevent him from ever truly building a program.

I don't miss him in the least, he was coaching the Heisman trophy winner and had zero bleeping idea or just rather didn't want to get the OLine recruits to protect him for his last season here.

Screw his excuses. What was his excuse for screwing over Atlanta? I can't stand the Falcons but he gave them the shaft. As far as 2018 if he was "struggling" With the death of his Dad which I can understand. He should have taken a leave of absence and we as fans might have understood. But to totally just pack it in mentally but still want to get paid just shows his douchbaggery.

He wants to coach. He's not sorry about anything. Putting his name out there a few weeks into the season hoping programs that are in bad shape will give him a look.
Bingo! You won the prize. What’s that saying, you fooled me once... He’s trying to look apologetic so that some other school will take a risk. He started with Arkansas because he knows Louisville fans are not in a forgiving mood...
He’s needs to do what John L did. Start again at a smaller school and earn your trust back.

I'm thankful for the wins he brought us, but after last year, I don't really have any further use for the guy. I don't care what the excuse is. He shouldn't have accepted the buy-out money.

What Hopgood said, remember how POS CBP had his Father run interference for him to get him back here, he knew he couldn't!

He burned the Cardinals program twice and then gave the program a big F U on his way out the second time by fleecing 14 million dollars for not doing his job. Personally I wouldn't pee on that guy if he was on fire begging for help. I know we're supposed to forgive and forget, but this asshat has has more than his fair share of forgiveness and he won't be difficult to forget. He's dead to me.

I should have watched the video first. Amazing the gall this guy has sucking up to Arkansas fans in telling them how special they are and how welcoming they were to him and his family.

The UofL football community did that twice for him and he showed his gratitude by alienating his players last year and bailing out on the program. At least he was somewhat honest later in saying he’s looking for a way back into coaching.

I hope whoever hires him has to sit in the stands in their next life and watch every minute of the misery Petrino created that was Louisville football in 2018.

Hince the post from yesterday about who will fire their coach first FSU or Tennessee. He is just putting is bait on the hook and casting his rell, waiting to see who bites.

It looks to me like Bobby the buzzard is circling the Arkansas program like Kellen Winslow Jr honing in on a 60 year old homeless woman.

Don’t think for a minute that he’s not fully aware that the Razorbacks were 34-17 with him as Head Coach and 37-53 since he left. Not to mention that the Hogs are 1-17 in their last 18 SEC games. #CrocodileTearsWithAPurpose.

Is he actually with his family? Rumor had it that Bobby P was one of the first people to move into the Omni condos. Moved in alone.

And it looks like a certain group of the Arky fans are going for it too. Idiots. What HS coach or parents would allow their kids to actually play for that snake? Oops I just insulted all snakes.

Bobby is like a drag race car without brakes or a chute.

The run can be great and fun. But in the end - there is going to be a crash.

you're being paid millions, it's your job get over it. no offense, but many times you see athletes lose a family member and they come out and dominate. remember farve on monday night football. i am sorry he had family issues and he wants to use that for his poor performance then he should give back his salary he fleeced us for. but he doesn;t give back one cent but will tell you not his fault he sucked had to be other factors. what an *******!!!

BP probably gets a fresh start running a lower level program or maybe he catches on as an assistant at a quality program.

These guys move around constantly. Some just go out with more fireworks than others LOL

I want to feel sorry for the guy but it's very difficult for me to. He's just honestly a terrible person. First post on Rivals, I tried to keep my name as "Louisvillenative" but it was taken lol

I understand what you’re saying. We fans take sports way too serious when it’s not life or death... well except when a person loses their mom, dad, sibling or child or when a person suffers extreme medical issues. I don’t “hate” Bobby but now that he is no longer affiliated with U of L, I don’t care about him.

Petrino is like the once promising but ultimately sh!tty husband who’s wife (Louisville) finally kicked him to the curb and now he flees to the wife that he cheated on (Arkansas) begging to be let back in the door.

It’s funny that his apology tour only includes a location where future employment is possible. Apparently the cities of Louisville and Atlanta aren’t on his itinerary. No hate. Just seen his act wear thin.

Egotists have a problem with accepting the fact that they were the problem or even part of it. With them, they are ALWAYS a victim of circumstances and other factors.
It took awhile after the 2018 debacle but it looks like his ego bounced back.

‘Remember the Cotton Bowl my beloved Razorback fans?’. ‘Remember 10-3 followed by 11-2?’. ‘I’m humble and hungry again, ready to lead your sons onto the battlefield once more.’ What’s that you say, you’ve already got a Head Coach? Well, ok, I sure hope he doesn’t keep losing but if he does, I’ll be just down the road coaching the QBs at Pine Bluff High School.’

‘Best of luck to Chad Morris this season’. Honest! Signed...your bestest buddy Bobby.

National perception of BP = Horrible person

Majority of posters on UofL message board thread perception of BP = Horrible person...

Not really any special distinguishment between Card fans/Rest of Country...

I did enjoy the winning times he had here when he was a horrible person!

For shame.

Other fan bases are so nice when they talk about former canned coaches. Said nobody. Ever.

You mean like the “special kind of hate” you bring when the subject is Vince Tyra?
I love having people like these around. They entertain the hell outta me. And the more insightful of you understand that...
