Actually, Petrino would have designed a better offense and developed Johnson to the point that it wouldn't be an issue. Lamar Jackson was terrible early last season. Petrino sat him, developed him and brought him back for their bowl game with renewed confidence and an offense designed to let him shine. Now he's the best player in college football.
In no way am I comparing Johnson to Jackson. The point is simply Petrino is an offensive genius, and you won't find anyone fitting that description on our sideline.
