This is a few tips from me...others may chime in....and other stations may vary....
We go up to NYC a few times a year on New Jersey Transit. We live in Bucks County and generally use the Hamilton Station which is the first one after Trenton. If you haven't ridden on NJT in awhile then I would strongly suggest downloading the NJT app and buy you tickets on there beforehand as the conductor will scan the code just like a TM code on the phone. If you try to buy at the station...and based on busy weekends (as well as the last Pinstripe trip) then you'll end up standing in line at the kiosks while those in front of you try to figure it out. There is no staffed ticket window anymore.
As for parking they now use the NexPass app where it scans your license plate (a la EZPass) going in and out of the parking garage so it would be good to get set up on the app beforehand. If they open up the open/non-covered lot that day then you'll need to process the payment manually on the app.
From Penn Station its generally take the A Train (as Duke Ellington would suggest) up the stadium. Last Pinstripe game the subway stations were pretty crowded before and after the game (then again it was a night game).
Just my $.02.....
