just curious as to what you guys might like to target shoot with, what kind of setup and accuracy you get. Just bought a S&W, M&P pro CORE 9mm today. It's the first semi I've ever owned and bought it to shoot targets with some of my friends who shoot a little. Anyone have that setup and can tell me what I can expect from it? What ammo to avoid?

Beretta .22 for target shooting. Much cheaper to shoot and super accurate. Also use a Marlin bolt action .22 that I've owned for 35 years. Nice to have a rifle and pistol shooting the same round.

.44 mag Ruger super red hawk.

If you can't hit the target at least you'll scare the hell out of everyone.

A .22 is all I ever shot targets with. I don't know what the cost is these days, but back when I used to go shooting, it was like a couple cents a bullet. You could shoot for hours and not run out. I think it is more like 5 or 6 cents a bullet now which still isn't bad. I think 9mm bullets cost at least 5 times that a shot. The cost adds up quick on those.

I have a Ruger Mark III Target that's a nice pistol in .22. Also a Sig Saur in a .22 in a 1911A1 style. The Ruger is very picky on ammo. It does not like Winchester, Remington, or Federal ammo. It does shoot Aguila without stove piping but make sure you clean it good. Overall I would recommend the Sig as it's not picky on ammo and much
Easier to clean. The Ruger is a ***** to reassemble

If all you want to do is punch holes in paper then get a .22. Ruger, Beretta, Sig are all excellent. I have a Browning Buck Mark Camper Stainless URX. Liked the way the grip felt, has a bull barrel, and I like stainless.
