Hard to say. Presumably it would be hard to keep that fire burning had he been at Kentucky for nearly 40 years. If he had, and he did, he might be considered the best college basketball coach of all time at this point.

I doubt it. He probably wasn't winning 6 more titles n addition to 1996. Or even 5 to tie ucla. It's hard to win national titles.

Best pure scum in the NCAA
But the guy could and still can coach. Not a fan of him going to UL but not going to hate on him for chasing a dream. I don’t know if he could be at UK longer than 10 years either, but we will never know.

Being a good coach doesn’t make him not scum. It’s not like he has multiple championships either. Plenty of better coaches and better people.

Disagree. If he was such a great coach, he would have won 3-5 titles at Louisville.

Meh, game passed him by as tends to happen. The game is different now than when he was ar providence and uk...he was innovative with the press and 3's. But no one presses anymore bc everyone can handle the ball, and everyone can shoot now

He's one of the best to ever do it, but he ended up having to cheat to stay afloat at uofl

He's got a competitive team now, his iona stint really didn't mean anything bc he took over a team that had won their conference like 5 years in a row.

Man knows how to coach. His adaptation to different eras has been good too. His team is fun to watch in the Big East. Since St. John's was still relevant when I started watching decades ago it is good to see them having success again. That fanbase went through some dire stretches.
