I've been a Rivals subscriber for nearly 10 years and frequently visit the opposing teams' message board after a Pitt win or a hard fought loss, to gain a fresher perspective on the team I root for and a closer look at the opponent, whose fans often provide more info than some announcing teams.

Anyway, I just wanted to commend this board on the collective pragmatic disposition taken after today's loss. Of the 6 page thread, I didn't read one post that can be described as childish or condescending. It probably reflects confidence earned through years of unparalleled, sustained success. Granted, a lack of history between the schools certainly quells any bitterness or disgust typically reserved for conference competing, but nonetheless, I'm still impressed. Nice job across the board.

More insight. Every team has it's day, both for and against them. Pitt was due as it hadn't beaten a top 20 team all season and over the past 15 years or so, it was common to not lose a home game to a top 20 team. In fact, the Peterson Events Center has never had a "storm the court" celebration. I'm saying that to say, the team was waaayyyy overdue.

Today was Pitt's last chance to achieve some feat reminiscent of the program it used to be, ..........so Duke ran into a buzz saw. It happens. Pitt ran into one at Louisville. It means nothing for Duke in the bigger scheme. For Pitt, it means nothing as well, aside from tournament seeding. They shot well. Most teams win when the shoot well. Personally, I would have been more impressed if they won without shooting well.

Well wishes........

Another Pitt fan here ,it's actually refreshing to see that not everyone's message board is full of negativity and hate following a disappointing performance. I'm sure part of it is the tradition of success Coach K and the hoop team has had , but with success expectations are raised. Great win for Pitt that badly needed a big win for their NCAA hopes tough loss for you guys ,but I commend your fan base for standing behind their team regardless of the outcome of an indivual game and your sanity .

It was simply Pitt's day, I'd rather lose to a team that has their day than piss it down our legs. I didn't get my standard sit down and watch the game as I am remodeling an area of my house so I just saw tid bits and I don't think, from what I saw, that Pitt ever missed a shot. That's why you play the game. Good luck the rest of the way.

Pitt's best strength (rebounding) is Duke's most glaring weakness. Pitt is the type of team that will knock Duke out of the tournament early if we don't get Amile back. Pitt plays physical, they do a great job of help defense ripping the ball free from driving opponents, they rebound the ball as a team and let's be honest they shot the hell out of it too. Yes, it was their day yesterday, but I would be willing to bet if we played 10 games Pitt would win more than 5 of them right now. We just don't match up well with our current roster as it is.

I did not get to see the game live. I looked at the score and read this board a little, so I knew the outcome. I started to watch some of it last night anyway, and got about halfway through the 1st half before I tapped out. Pitt was firing on all cylinders no doubt. Coach can't be too happy with the effort level and body language Duke showed. They looked really worn down. I don't want to hear about the limited bench as the cause, because they are young men in top shape playing for two hours every three days or so. I think the issue is being run down mentally.

Seth Davis and Clark Kellogg were talking about this before the game. Its not necessarily the physical aspect which is taking the biggest toll, its the emotional aspect. Having to be on point for so long, with no breaks, and coming off 3 big weeks in a row is tough for these kids. They called it: Pitt was a desperate home team. Most analysts predicted this loss. I thought we were better than that. We weren't. The ACCT is going to be hard to watch.

But hey, get a fresh start in the NCAAT, win the first weekend and lets see what happens.

Thanks for the feedback....I love this board because it has true fans that stay pretty grounded in reality.

Wish the outcome was different -- this last stretch of the season is going to push the Blue Devils even more. Nice win for Pitt -- wishing you good luck down the stretch....just not as much as us.
