Interesting. If you like the pixies you'd probably like the toadies. Similar sound and you can tell they were influenced by them.

-toadies are good...you're correct, heavily influenced by pixies.

-I saw them a few times in their prime and again about 13 years ago...always great.

-might have been the venue...I've seem them at the ryman/uk student center ballroom/bogarts in cincy.

-yum is huge...pixies are a small/medium venue band.

I've seen them 5 times and the other 4 were great. I think that was the next to last show on a long tour. I get why your saying that show wasn't great but if you get the chance to see them again you should.

-at the brady center...fantastic venue. I've seen flaming lips and spoon/interpol there. Be there or be square.
Thanks man. Just got my tickets.

And I actually bought my own tickets this time instead of stealing Jeff Gibson's from will call like I did at the UK student center when I saw them for the first time in the early 90s.

The Brady Music Center (ICON as it was known in 2021) is cool and sounds great! It has 2 balconey's for seating/side standing and our show had SRO on the floor. It was built and operated by MEMI which is owned by the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. Saw Gary Clark Jr and would definitely go again!

Only drawback for many people is parking which isn't a problem for me with my wife having a spot for work. Guessing you can get very close in the Central Riverfront Garage for $20 or less. Just steps away actually.
