Before, and during, his semi-final match last night JB mentioned an injury during his qtr’s match. I don’t remember anything and I am trying to get through the thread to see a mention. Anyone able to fill me in on what I missed?
Agreed. Something happened there. He was slow to get up after a flurry ending OOB (far side from camera) in the quarterfinal.
The same reason it wasn't called in the first match with Antrell Taylor. Fact of the matter is, stalling is totally subjective. Guys will continue to use these tactics to take matches into tie-breakers until something changes. I don't have an answer, but I think pushout points is a start. While watching his match, how and why did the ref 'not call stalling' on Okie State? I thought wrestling was more than locking hands and fingers - David Taylor should be hiding for teaching that system. Duke actually won without the Ref's late action.
Later in other matches - the Refs called stalling on PSU while controlling the action.
Whether or not it is the case, he needs to work on the gas tank.I think it's been said before and repeated last night on the broadcast that the cut to 57 was challenging for him.
He was certainly gassing mid-season. Didn’t know whether the staff were pushing him extra hard to prep for March. The pure hand fight from Robideau was good prep from Taylor/Kennedy. PJ could probably work a little on his top game. Maybe Marcus too. Being freestyle-focused might be a hindrance when they’re equally matched on their feet.I think it's been said before and repeated last night on the broadcast that the cut to 57 was challenging for him.
Actually, that type of call should either not be reviewable, or you must let the wrestler finish. There can be no gray area there. It was an absolute travesty. You just determined a match as a ref which should never be allowed. How it got overturned is an even bigger joke and disgrace. After a scramble in the quarterfinals PJ was slow back to center. After the match he was holding his groin area.
With that said, maybe PJ looked gassed because he had a match stolen from him by a horrible call by the ref. PJ was going to get either potentially dangerous, back points or a pin. The ref blew the whistle, stopped the match because he saw a TD. He should have let it play out longer.
He’s in a cradle, his base knocked out, close to swipes, the ref stops it. What was the reason they gave for no takedown?Actually, that type of call should either not be reviewable, or you must let the wrestler finish. There can be no gray area there. At least Willie and Mineo are bringing attention to this, I went to Flo to see if I could find a headline and not a peep. They don't want to lose 24/7 7 day a week access to DT.
