Anyone watched this? Have any testimonials about the ideas or experienced the pure plant diet?

As a person that suffers from high cholesterol, blood pressure, and blood sugar it absolutely has my attention. My wife offered to have someone run labs and try their 10 day start program and then run labs after to see the numbers.

Not sure scared is the word, but something tells me this won't work for me long term. However it's relatively inexpensive and if a trial period does what the documentary says then as a 36 year old losing metabolism by the day I think I owe it to myself to give it a shot.

Not sure why you would pay for it. It seems be essentially a vegan diet. Educate yourself on how to prepare vegan meals, start slow and figure out what you like and transition over to it.

I'd pay because for a$135 including shipping they provide 20 meals. By the math that is $7 per meal and they are pre-packaged.

The company has several startup kitchens all over and I assume since they tried to start in KY with Greg Stumbo and Tom Riner they have locations some what close to me. Riner's district isn't too far and he was BIG into this when they tried to start in 2010.

They have cook books etc and when starting up knowing myself I'd be better served to rely on paying an affordable price to just have it done and see what bout.

There are endless Docs like this on Netflix. Forks over Knives, Vegucated, etc...

I'm a pretty firm believer in all that stuff, just not strong enough to do it (for more than a week at a time every now and then)

Whenever I juice or go hardcore for a week, my numbers (BP, Cholesterol, etc) fall so drastically it's ridiculous.

Well for me I typically feel like crap with most of the foods I eat now. I'm 36 and the diet must change. I'm not sure how disciplined I'll be, and it probably depends on taste really, or if I'll maintain it.

I'm going to try it though and here locally a place called Vgrits is the supplier. Did some more research and this group seems to be starting up a farmers market, the 4-5th one here, and seem to be legit.

I'm just curious if I'll feel full or if I'll just be starving for two weeks until I adjust.

I love how krazykats is really stressing out over this meal package. It's just a vegan diet, idiot. Fruits, veggies, nuts, beans, etc. Good luck!!!

Have a friend who's become quite a fast runner after dropping 225 pounds. He's a vegan and quit drinking alcohol. Has been profiled by several notable sources. An amazing transformation.

I have a horrible diet but really am trying. Veganism makes sense but I can't do it all the way. For now I'm just mixing in as many fruits and veggies as possible. It's a start.

Veganism makes sense

Does it?

Basing your diet primarily on vegetables, fruits, and nuts, is something everyone of us should do. But veganism seems stupid to me.

Some animal protein and fat is good for most people, especially if coupled with a ton of vegetables.

And, in my limited experience, most vegans tend to drop a bunch of weight at first because it is a diet that it is a helluva lot better than the standard America diet but over the long run end up pudgy because, like everyone else, they eat pasta and fries rather than tofu and sprouts. They just don't get the delicious cheese on the pasta or fries fried in whatever animal by-product most restaurants use.

Watch the PBS documentary "In Defense of Food". It's pretty common sense (more fruits and veggies, less processed food) but it also spends time showing you how processed foods came about and influence our diet.

Yea it's a big deal to me at 36 6'5 270 and just horrible stats across the board. Now is the time to really focus and get better at the discipline part.

I don't eat awful but it isn't close to what I'd want to do. Plus my main concern is no chicken, turkey or any meats really which leaves me feeling like I would be starving all the time.

I'm told I will grow used to it and it won't be an issue, but I can't believe until I do it. We will see because I'm ordering it sometime next week to start.

Well it is apparent your passion for change is there....so quit talking about it and do it. What's the worst that will happen, you will crap out on the attempt, and have to find a new method? As a fellow lard *** I look forward to tracking your progress.

OP-

I fail to see what cutting out grilled chicken or lean meats like turkey would do for you. If you want to lower your blood pressure and cholesterol eat more chicken, fish, turkey and I am not talking about fried. Bake or grill it - Yea it sucks and is bland but it is just as healthy as vegetables.

My advice - (not that you asked for it but it might be an easier pathway to your goal speaking from experience)

Go on a vegetable, lean meat diet, dairy diet- extensively a low carb diet.

I would say 90% of this is motivation/dedication. With this in mind you will shed pounds faster and see results to make you motivated to continue quicker. Replace that pasta dish with a piece of grilled chicken and asparagus.

Weight loss follows this order: Burn Carbs -> Burn Fats -> Burn Proteins -> Weight loss

By cutting out the fats and carbs you have eliminated 2 steps in the weight loss process.

Drink Water! Exercise 3 times a week!

I get what your saying but the plant pure nation thing is also about what's good for your body and plants naturally grown are what we were given. We are not meant to eat eggs, chicken, beef etc no matter how good it is.

So the plants is also about being healthier nutrient wise as well as body stats.

I guess.

Dude - humans have been eating eggs, chicken, beef, fish, etc for centuries. They just haven't been eating it in the processed and fried forms that it is today. You're really making this harder on yourself that it needs to be. Throw out the processed foods and sugars and eat naturally and you'll be fine whether you choose to use a vegan diet or not.

sry lol. that was Dr. Drew quote. gradual changes in lifestyle have a better chance at working than drastic ones. make a drastic diet move and it usually gives you the short term gains but most people don't have the stomach for the long haul. make slower but overall better changes over time, and most people tend to stick with them. if you change your diet completely all at once, you will be miserable by the end of the first week. you will lose weight yeah, because your starving.

I get the feeling we are going to get a follow up post, saying OMG this was incredible and changed my life. And for just $40 a month you can be on my downline and change yours too, both physically and financially!

Something like this:

I lost 2 lbs following Pure Plant Nation, but more importantly, I changed my life.

I am running a real business that is helping people have real results. I have a real income to contribute to my household. I am not doing this on my own though. I am a part of an amazing team that has supported me.

I want to offer the opportunity to join our team to individuals that are motivated to share and inspire others to take that next step in their health, fitness, and overall wellness while building your own business and eating plants.

So what you are saying is that OP got to be the stay at home mom he always wanted to be (I mean *REALLY* there for his kids and creating a *REAL* income) by slinging Zija and/or Vegetales or whatever MLM nonsense is the flavor or the day?

Wow.

Shocker.

What's your friend's name. I'm vegan and would love to read about him/her.

Josh Lajaunie

He's become tight with Rich Roll, who's probably one of the more well known authors/bloggers/podcast guys re: veganism. He's also a big time endurance athlete.

Cook your own meals of non-processed or minimally processed ingredients and take every opportunity for exercise ( like taking stairs instead of elevator, walking instead of searching for best parking spot etc.)

I really think that's all you have to do, and not do stupid stuff like drink a 2 liter of Coke a day. I'll never figure out why Americans are so fat if that ain't it.

Maybe for you, but when you are eating bad you body craves garbage. Candy, pizza, brownies, cookies, ice cream, fast food etc etc etc.

Ordering pre made meals will allow me to just get out of habits, hopefully!

Any sort of neurological dependencies (cravings) get reset after 5 to 7 days as just a matter of physiology. You should do whatever you think is most effective, but buckle down and you'd get through it... it's not like it's heroin or even nicotine.

Here's a hint, don't buy that **** and you won't have it to get into even if you do crave it and eventually you'll stop craving it as much. I realize you have a wife and kids at home but talk to your wife about removing it / not buying it. This is going to work best if the whole family is eating better and with you.

I could live on pizza, hamburgers, chips, and chocolate. Of those 4 items, I only have chocolate in my house and when I do have it, I don't bring the bag with me. I take out a serving and put the rest back in the pantry.

Seriously, regardless of what you choose, use a program like myfitnesspal to track your food and to teach you the value of calories. This is where people really fail. They don't understand the caloric value and really do not understand how much they are eating. You start off every day or every week with a budget of calories. Once you spend them, you're done or you gain weight. Calculate your BMR for what you weigh right now and what you want to weigh and start shifting your calories in that direction. Yes, it's a simplified method but you're not at the point where you need to understand macronutrient levels.

Also, I'm sure you're still somewhat immobile from your injury, but you can still do upper body and core while the leg recovers. Get some dumbbells and start doing simple things like chest presses, military presses, tricep kickbacks, skull crushers, and get in the floor and do crunches. You have to build some muscle if you really want the weight to come off.

That's really sad. Knock up some ***** (doesn't really matter who) and suck off that government teet. Then you'll have more than beer on Fridays.
