I’m pretty sure that we don’t have any leaders on this team that would even think to arrange a players only meeting. Just saying, because usually this is around the time you would hear such things.

They could all get together to enjoy counting their money and laughing. They certainly wouldn’t be meeting to sort out this team’s troubles because we don’t have a single ‘dawg’ on this roster, no enforcer to hold fellow teammates accountable. They very much match our coach, Mr. Rogers.

They are going to have a players’ only meeting.

The theme is going to be “how do we become bigger, faster, stronger, much more talented, excellent shooters with radically improved skills and basketball instincts by next week? Kam, you first.”

Oweh and Garrison are this team's leaders. That's all you need to know about why we suck so bad.

It is pretty telling that we have heard nothing about one. They can't even be bothered to pretend to care.

But remember, the secular boys will be here any minute to tell you players

*getting paid won’t change anything
* living together is for old thinking
* “get off my lawn” quotes in abundance
* let them sign autos for money

Gonzo owes me money we had a bet. I told that guy over and over what would come with paying these guys like this. “It’s always happened now it’s just out from under the table”.

No, it’s never been done like this. No players were paid like this “under the table”. You’d get the death penalty for this crap at that time. This was never seen and this is why coaches and the NCAA said no to it for so long. Now here you go, you wanted it, you got it. Soon you get the strikes too, was that always “under the table” also.

These guys vote in elections. Scary stuff.

This **** is hilarious, actually believable with how Oweh is this season!
Money has trashed that guys brain. These types are too young to get that kind of money. They don’t know what to do with it and don’t know how to properly act. They aren’t smart or wise enough. He will have no career after UK and will be told enterprise rent a car is life after basketball. Let’s see if he can even show up.

My other favorite - “they’re the ones doing the work they deserve the money.”

Welp, seems the EDUCATION they were getting is what they NEED, and now it’s ruining the program and sport. Doesn’t seem they are “working” at all, does it?

Unfortunately we dont have anyone to make that happen. Pope has lost the team and dont think he can recover from that. I do understand why people had concerns about his hiring but I never thought he would lose control of our team.

He was our captain on one of the greatest teams of all time and played for Pitino so I'm really surprised that he is being a doormat as the coach. Its obvious most of the players dont respect him at all. Im not a conspiracy theory type of guy but it's not a stretch to assume some awful crap is happening behind the scenes.

Lol " a players only meeting" - I think they should do the opposite. The more time they spend together, the worse we get.

I'd pause all basketball operations until the next game. No practice, no meetings, no nothing. Just go to class and hang out / do whatever you want.

If practice and meetings etc all result in 20% shooting and losing by 50, what's the point.

"OK guys, tough loss this week to Gonzaga and our next game in Tuesday at 7 pm against NC Central. Try to be here by 5 or so to get a few warmup shots in. Make sure to have your parents check the post game meal schedule and halftime snack schedule. See you guys Tuesday and have a great weekend"

Pope is a smart guy. He knows what’s wrong. It’s obviously beyond basketball. It’s time for him to address it and do something about it.

Seems to be working fine for Duke, Michigan and UConn. Just because our leader is failing doesn’t mean the system is broken.

Play for the money not the name on the front or the back of the jersey. Forget about the assignment.

Oh this is an issue that’s been showing its ugly hear for a while. Kansas last year had rogue players. UNC has had some issues with it apparently. There are more they’re just not highlighted. We’re only paying attention to Kentucky. Kansas had guys wanting more money and looks like they completely quit because of it.

The coaches have said it and other personnel have talked about it. The system is absolutely broken. This isn’t sustainable and it’s killing the sport. Football is dying right in front of everyone.

Popes strongest mantra was saying “I only want guys that want to play for the name on the front of the jersey”. He might have two.

Internal problems have always existed in team sports. This isn’t new. And College football ratings are off the charts. This isn’t new. UK just has the wrong guy.

Nope. Not even close to what we’ve been witnessing. I’ve been watching college sports since the early 90’s, it’s never been this bad. When Kansas and Kentucky have players doing what they’ve been doing no sir. Not living together, no contracts, pay me and I do whatever I want culture is not going to cut it paying these guys will end in the destruction of this sport. Coaches are already saying it I think those of us who have watched and been a part of college sports know what we’re seeing.
