Does anyone think the depth of the team is hurting recruiting moving forward? Collins used to be able to sell starting as a freshman to McIntosh, Law, Falzon and lots of playing time to many freshman. It appears those days are done.

I think minutes are going to be tough the next couple of years, Expect more transfers of guys who are actually good, A sign of a good program, by the way.

We have depth...but true STAR talent is still somewhat thin. A stud will still play immediately.

No. Kids want to play for a winner. Doesn't seem to hurt Kentucky, Duke, UNC, etc.

Yes...but early on Collins could sell play right away, but couldn't sell play for a winner. Now he can't sell either. Maybe now he can sell "I think will be a winner" but that should work better for Duke and Kentucky.

Cats are 12-2. That's a winner in my book. Couple that with playing Big 10 basketball, getting a great degree, having decent facilities, and living in the Chicago area and he has a lot to sell.

I think bigs will be tough in the next cycle (that is, freshmen in 2018-19), with Pardon and Benson and Skelly. But there's still not a lot of young, productive depth (again, for the 2018-19 class, when Lindsey is gone and Law a senior).

Also -
I think Rapolas, Falzon, Brown, etc. might be 'barriers' to the 100-150 ranked recruit, where there are easier paths to playing time at similar programs elsewhere, but not with the top 50 types that CCC is going for.

Skelly has one more season, he is a true Junior this year. He will be gone in 2018-19.

This is perplexing to me. If this is a problem, it's a good problem to have.

For the first time ever, we have an NU program that can't sell playing time to B1G caliber recruits. Do we not understand that this is a clear measure of progress?

Who they? Hope they find a program to their liking and that wants them.
