College basketball has a real playoff system that is fantastic. Every time there is a discussion about having a real football playoff, people say it will diminish the games during the regular season.

I just turned on the Duke/NC basketball game. Someone needs to tell the fans at Cameron Indoor Area that it is just a regular season game and it doesn't matter.

There are valid arguments on both sides of this. What it’ll boil down to is money and what the college football elite want to do... and since those few programs garner plenty of money and win most of the championships, I doubt anything will really change much beyond what it is now.

I think it goes further than just the money.
P5s feel superior to non p5s and want to keep it that way.
The current football system denies UCF the opportunity to play Alabama for the championship.

The bball tournament is a good equalizer.
