If these companies aren't paying taxes in 2015, did they have a "credit" from previous years? Are they going to pay their 2015 taxes over a period in the future? I realize GM is an exception because of their bailout and they actually entered into an agreement.
Quick glance shows about half of those companies are REITs, which means the income flows through to the shareholder/partner and paid on their tax return. The rest are probably R&D or holding their earnings overseas.
