Stop with all this Wisconsin talk. It makes us look like freaking cowards. We might get them as our 2 , we might not . IMO they get a 1 seed but in the end who freaking cares. wahhh.... the NCAA isn't fair. Is this new? No. Bring on any comers that may we are a legendary good team and we will beat them all. Please stop harping on something that might happen and even if they were our 2 doesn't mean they survive long enough to beat us . Grow a pair for god's sake men! WE ARE UK OTHERS FEAR US NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND.

while i agree with you,

i think the point people are trying to make isn't that we are scared of Wisconsin.

I think we are questioning the logic that places wisconsin at #2 seed in our bracket.

It's not whether we can beat them or not. Most everyone believe we will win, because if you break down our team last year that played wisconsin and this year, it's not even comparable which team improved the most.

I think by the end of it, it will end up being a moot point, because couple other team will end up losing on the way anyways.

I understand that but c'mon man there are like 6 or more threads about them . And it is the NCAA , when have they ever been fair? Also i do totally agree with you it will be moot as i think Wisky gets a 1 seed in the end.

The reason it's being discussed it because many are saying its a foregone conclusion. All we know about the tournament at this point is who got in this weekend, who the overall number one is and who their anointed two will likely be based on the talking heads. It's gonna be discussed all week.

Personally Wisconsin doesn't concern me. They can't defend our bigs or our guards and our length will throw them off all game long. I think a lot of people want to see a Wisconsin UK matchup in the final four.

Yeah i too think Wisconsin of any team has the best shot to beat us but the insane number of threads about them today just makes it seem like we are scared to play them. I don't care who we play , not with this team.

Bring em on. The Cats will send them home also and say who's next? The Cats are an athletic matchup nightmare at every position for Wisc. no matter which way they want to play.

Canes, pretty sure Going for #9 said Wisconsin does not concern him, so do not think he agrees they are the team most likely to upset UK. I am just going to accept they are out 2 unless something happens to change that...bring those goofy unathletic punks on I say. I hate their prick of a coach in Bo Ryan, an will be lovely to embarrass them this year as it won't be as close as last year.

Yeah i understood him , i was saying i agree with everyone who says Wisky has the best chance to beat us.I wasn't agreeing with him though i did agree that wisconsin doesn't concern me as no team does . I too cannot stand Bo ryan as he is total douche bag. They are unathletic ( well beyond Dekker) and slow but skilled and i say bring them on as well.

My reasoning is if we can't beat Wisconsin in the Elite 8 then we didn't deserve to advance. Doesn't matter if we play them in the Final four or not, it's still counted as a loss.

Yep and might as well get a tough team outta the way . its not like the 4 best teams will be the in final 4 . This year its all about winning it all and if we lose i wont feel any better if it happens in the 1st round or the title game honestly . Not with this team . Win it all or bust .

Screw it. Give them a 16 seed and we'll whup them in the 1st round. Bring on the pussies from Duke in the 2nd round. Third round, bring on Loserville.... too bad that won't make it that far. Keep the Zags and Zona out West. By the time we get to the Final Four, there won't be anyone worth a piece of dried up dog **** left to play.

Just not right that the overall # 1 gets the overall # 5 -- no way that's right for either side -- not with some turd like gonzaga being a 2 -- or even Kansas , Kansas is a Midwest team right ? No way we should get whisky .

I'm not worried about any team in the tourney either. We will win or not; although there SHOULD be no reason, barring injury, for our team to lose ANY of the next 9 games

That being said - the problem isn't us getting Wisconsin as a 2 seed; (everyone assumes they'll make it to the Elite 8 - who knows?) The problem is the NCAA committee always wanting a storyline - and denying it at every turn.

As the #1 overall seed; Kentucky SHOULD have the easiest bracket - although this year I'd rather not, we tend to overlook "lesser" teams, LOL - but that never seems to happen for us.

No opponent beyond the one at the beginning of the bracket is guaranteed.
In fact as often as 50% of the time lesser seeded teams win game 2 and 3.
I suggest everyone just chill a bit...spend a little time with the wife/husband, kids, significant other, your parents or friends, or clean out your closet or sock drawer.
We will, have plenty of time to dissect thereal opponent in about 10 days.

BKO i agree that the NCAA is messed up but it always has been and always will be . We will get a tough as hell road i assume to win the title but we have fought thru the region of doom before and can and will do it again. WE WILL NOT BE DENIED THIS TIME . I FEEL IT IN MY HEART .

Back in the 90's, the overall number 1 seed seemed to get a cakewalk to the elite8. Things have changed as revenue is playing a larger part of who plays who. You have to play 6 games, so who cares who we end up playing. If your scared, go play tennis.

At 37-0, I can't imagine I'll be doing anything but sweating bullets from the regional final going forward. But the opponent has nothing to do with it. The only team beating Kentucky is Kentucky. We know it. They know it.

But a Final Four appearance would at least be of banner-worthy significance.

That is absolutely true. Nevertheless, we'll have at least 10 new Wisky threads this week.

i mean, it's Bo Ryan. If it weren't for them surviving OT against Zona last year, we wouldn't even be worried about them advancing far enough to meet us this year. He's been "meh" in the NCAAT most of his career.

Whether they are a 1 seed or a 2 they won't advance far enough to meet us, but that doesn't mean they don't deserve fair seeding. I'd also prefer it for our fans if our regional didn't include Wisconsin, Ohio State, and the Cleveland Cavaliers but it will.

So... apparently the Bayou Bengals will be in our bracket, too?

Anyway, for the OP: As already implied, for many Cat Fans, it's less about a fear of Wisky... more about the disrespect of giving the unquestionably #1 overall seed a "tough" road in the tourney... thereby allowing a perceived easier path to a less deserving team like... oh, let's just say, Duke.

But, yeah... there will be at least a dozen more threads about it. No extra charge.

I listened to Andy Katz interview Bo Ryan and ask him his preference of geography vs balance and he said he would prefer to go to the Midwest region so his fan base wouldn't have to travel as far. He also said he hopes that his team has the problem of playing KY since that would mean that they had advanced far in the tournament.

This^^^. We should be more concerned about playing in Cleveland than Duke, Wisconsin, Virginia, Gonzaga and Arizona. The place will be packed with haters( inside and outside of the arena), and every lousy ref in America will be signing up for a chance to be the UK anti-Christ.

And I think they will do their best to put ND against us at the Mistake on the Lake. It's their heartland.

It was many years ago, but in 1996 we got a VERY good ACC champion Wake Forest as our 2 seed, led by Tim Duncan. Our only two losses came from teams with superbly talented big men. We beat Wake by 20 in spite of pearl clutching and hand wringing from the BBN.
