Finally our pom pom game was strong. They've handed them out before but the fans haven't put them to much use. You watch other SEC games...Bama, UGA, LSU, Auburn etc. Those places are pom pom crazy. UGA fans even brought their's on the road with 'em last night. The pom pom phenomenon in the SEC has always intrigued me.

Need to put them aside for "On, On, U of K" and clap, though. Too many people shook them instead of clapping. JMO

It's true. I'm always amused at the number of grown men from auburn and alabama and UT that go on the road and have 3 pom poms sticking out of their back pocket as they walk into the stadium.

Wish they would give them out every game. Or at least to the student's every game. After going for 10 consecutive years I think I've seen 7 or 8 pom pom games. They're cheap but make for a great look.

The atmosphere was awesome in Commonwealth last night. Now we just need to win some more high profile games.
I wasn't at the game but I can tell you from watching it on TV the atmosphere was incredible. We looked like a big time SEC team on TV last night. They need to do the pomp pomps every game. On the negative side we can afford to lose the cat claw thing. It's a clear take off of the gator chomp except it looks ridiculous.

It was a great sight but it seemed like the usage was awfully thin. The '97 Bama game the pom poms were blue and white and every single person was waving the hell out of them. That was a spectacular vision.

Was there. Yes, the white really stood out in the dark. I don't recall all white ever before - not that we've used them much before. Blue wouldn't show as well even in day. At least a blue/white mix in each one during day.

Im not going to comment on the game, but the atmosphere was great.

Pom-poms needs to be a norm for our bigger games.

Like next year vs UT, UF, and UofL. They looked awesome. Just saying.
Question: am I the only one in the state of Kentucky that can't sta

Am I the only guy in the state of Kentucky that can't stand to see a man wave a pom-pom?
Geesh, what has this university turned into--I guess inclusion is the answer.

Its only a non-manly thing when you think too much into it. Its not a literal pom pom. Georgia does it, Auburn does it, Michigan does it, Bama does it, Ole Miss does it, USC does it, etc. Its an awesome thing and 95% of people love it. Its strands on a stick that look cool to wave back and forth among thousands of people. We finally had a college football atmosphere and some cant enjoy it.

Not a fan of the pompoms.
I'm sure they look great on tv, but my neck still hurts
from trying to see between the poms. The group in front of
me held them high the whole game...

I was there (first game ever in Commonwealth) and it was quite awesome. We were in the upper deck (lower part) and could see the whole crowd pretty much and wow!!! I'm all for the pom poms

We need those things they have at Japanese baseball games that they smack together. That would make our stadium even louder. lol

Could only tune in to the game every few minutes on my phone and man, CWS looked like a totally different place and they had a lot to do with it. Need to make that a thing for sure, adds a lot.

It's the little things

They should be standard issue, along with card trick(s) at every SEC home game. They also need to mic up the band in the stands and amplify their playing of fight song whenever played at breaks or after TD's.

Thundersticks...but they are pretty annoying. I want to say Tampa Bay used them during their World Series Run several years back. They were passed around some stadiums after that but never caught on. You have to really pop them to get a loud sound. With how tight the seating is in Commonwealth, you would have a fight or two before the first quarter was over.

They would go well with the Coca Cola headbands they passed out before the game in the Nutter Center though.

Full house, ribbon board, and I hate to say it the pom poms made it look like great on TV! Keep having meaningful games and BBN will rock commonwealth!
