Pompey with a nice showing in the 1st round of the home run derby. He hit 16, which was 3rd and good enough to move on. Chandler Taylor from Bama put on a show in the 1st round hitting 4 out of the entire stadium, all of them were 457 ft. plus. Pompey had the 5th longest at 456 ft.

He wound up 4th in the contest with 27, he hit 22 righty and 5 lefty. Good showing, he got edged out by Julian Infante of Vandy, who hit his money ball out for 2 more points.
He ran out of gas at the end. He was trying to uppercut everything left handed and it drained him. He was already tired when he switched to left. He had a great showing and it was good exposure for UK.
