Some of you guys almost seem to enjoy seeing Pope fail.
Maybe if he stopped failing people wouldn’t talk about it so much.
I can assure you I don’t. I still have love for the guy, but Pope as Prison Mike is objectively funny. I don’t wish him to fail, you should know that
When things get this bad, if given the choice between staying angry or depressed (I take basketball deathly serious), I’ll choose to channel into some comedy instead

Mark Pope may not be a successful coach here. But, I do not believe he’s a religious phony as you claim.
Every religious person is a “phony” in the sense that we are all sinners who fall short of the glory of God. Anyone true in their convictions knows that the grace of God is unmerited favor. I think many times people look to the “church people” to hold up some amazing standard of excellent behavior. Those who follow Christ are broken people who found an infirmary, not an elite class of do-gooders with perfect lives. It’s just a misconception.
Love Bob Knight or hate him, he wouldn’t put up with this crap. He would start the Grad Assistants before he would let some bums show him up on the court.
Exactly, Christ knows we are sinners. That what his grace is for. We are human, we fail. We sin, we are hypocrites. We go to church to be forgiven for being this way.
The biggest threat to Christianity is a lot of Christians themselves. I’ve seen so many people turned away from religion due to be judged by people who have more skeletons in their closet than anyone I know. High ranking member of churches too

No one enjoys seeing Pope go through this, but he knew what he was getting himself into.
Then he goes out and says stuff like, “knowing the assignment”, “this team reminds me of ‘96”, “can’t wait to take this Ferrari for a spin”, “recruiting is in a really good place”, and many many others.
Botton line, there’s maybe 8-10 coaches alive who have coached MCBB that are qualified for the job, but Pope isn’t one of them. He knows it, most fans know it, the media knows it, and UK’s administration knows it now.
Bro, I might as well have had a back to back national championships tattoo for ‘27 and ‘28. I was on this very website declaring a Pope dynasty after the Duke game.
