I wonder what his offensive stats were? I looked at his coaching records in the past, and I’m curious what Barnhart seen to make him think that he was the best man for this job other than being a former captain here? Anyone that watched his BYU teams, I’d like to hear your thoughts on this.

It made me sick when I seen little brother’s coaches accomplishments before they hired him. Kelsey won 6 conference regular season championships, 5 conference tournament championships, and was coach of the year in 2 different conferences. He got his 3rd coach of the year his first season with them.

He came in 5th place the last three years prior to UK. No regular season conference champs, no conference tournament champs. No ncaa tourney wins. No history of working with/ir developing NBA level talent. And he had a worse record than the coach that preceded him at BYU.

Mitch has taken a big gamble on this hire. I hope it works out, but I’m worried. Football schools shouldn’t be out recruiting us.

"I’m curious what Barnhart seen to make him think that he was the best man for this job other than being a former captain here?"...Nobody wanted to come here, and he knew all he had to do was open up Rupp Arena, drive a bus in, and he would be off the hook

Common sense tells me that when one of the premier jobs in college basketball opens, coaches will definitely be interested. That’s pretty dumb that you’re asking me who wanted the job, when none of us know who reached out. For a “fan” to pretend that this job isn’t a good one it tells me how knowledgeable you are about college basketball. I look forward to reading how “undesirable” you think the UK coaching job is. LOL

Hahahahaha that’s my point. Mitch should have done a better job. I know trolls like yourself don’t know this but UK is the most valuable college basketball program in the country. Thanks for helping me make my point. You must be pretty bored to have to make a new account just to troll our board. Can’t find anything else better to do???

I love how you guys hate our program so bad that you can’t stay off this board. Whose your team that you follow? Did you guys look at the schooos on the list? BYU in the top 60 4 times. It’s not like BYU is attracting Hall of Faners. Stellar defensively? No. Pathetic? No

24,000 filked Rupp with giddiness at his arrival with 10,000 more outside that couldn’t get in….. they had a revival of happiness like we hadn’t seen in years over his introduction.

this is what Mitch meant when he said “microwave” society. It’s always just he emotion if the moment that matters that day and then it changes tomorrow with good or bad results

You mean a premier school that has an hostile segment of its fanbase that absolutely vilifies, guts, demises, stomps, ridicules, castigates and berates its last four coaches? I dunno. I only know one school that has done that.

Nobody wanted to be hear when Gillespie was hired...and there are a couple denominators working here. One being college basketball coaches worth their salt usually dont go to a place where they are replacing a hall of fame coach that was run out of town, another would be Barney...he is an idiot and should have been fired ten years ago

I'm not going to debate someone who doesn't have any evidence or facts to support his claims, and just labels his own assertions as "common sense" as if that somehow adds validity. You then proceed to call the opposing view " dumb", again, without anything to back it up. If I want to engage in that kind of back and forth, I'd rather argue with my 5 year old niece. She uses the same type of logic as you. You can kindly piss off.

I call it like I see it. Sorry if I hurt your feelings. It gets on my nerves when fans try to act like nobody would want to coach our program or be interested in the job. It’s not true and it’s ridiculous. Neither one of us know who was interested in the job and that’s not been released publicly and it’s rare that it is, so why are you asking me? Then getting mad when I point out the obvious. How often is it released publicly every single coach that reached out when a major job opens up in a sport?

Not disagreeing but....he has an oc. If he needs a dc then why are we paying him so much?

There are only 15 total guys and only 5 play at once. A basketball hc shouldn't need someone to run everything for them. They just shouldn't be the coach.
