Popes Merry Christmas

Great day at Rupp with my kids!
Pope truly embraces the fans and I know I know he may or may not be the best for this position. But I truly love Mark Pope no matter what if he fails or succeeds I am proud to have him as our coach right now and rooting for him to win. After the game in the post game show he told all the fans merry Christmas and that himself and the team would be waiting in suite 6 to sign all autographs. It was awesome to meet him and the whole team and got our ball signed by all except Quatance. I even got Tom Leach to sign it lol. I know it may not mean anything to some but it sure meant the world to me for my kids to actually meet and talk to the players.
Also as me and my sons were getting a picture with Pope and Brandon Garrison was trying to leave. Pope said where are you going in a very dad like tone he said my flight leaves soon. Pope said well let me see your ticket and Garrison looked at him nervously then Pope said sit down then. Making sure he wasn’t trying to ditch early even though I felt bad for them all but this team stayed and signed all the autographs. Probably 300 fans there.

You’re not imagining it and you shouldn’t be gaslit into thinking it wasn’t what it was or that it was a problem you calling it out.

All the same I don’t think he was actually motivated by a lack of respect for Pope, just by a fear of rocking the boat. That’s why you need people like me. Rock that boat upside down. Every last one of you and the boat itself can all kiss my *** and I love you all and Merry Christmas!!

I agree with the sentiment in the original post. Nochi there was just upset that the original post said "for now" regarding some uncertainty surrounding Pope's tenure at UK.

Now, I'm hoping Mark Pope IS the head coach for a long time. I'm hoping this current team doesn't cause his demise as head coach.

Now, having said that, Mark Pope, the man, is a good man and an excellent representative and ambassador for this program. I love the man in more ways than one and I'll continue thinking highly of him even if he doesn't last a long time as UK head coach. I love that he's a man of faith, which is especially important this time of year. I love that he's all-in on the Commonwealth, the University, the BBN, and everything UK.

I wasn't thrilled with the way the team played today and I have a feeling Pope wasn't, either. He thinks a lot like a UK fan, because he is a fan. But despite being irritated by the defense today, I'm appreciative of the way Pope handles his business and interacts with the fans. I'm a fan of his like I feel he's a fan of me, even though we don't know each other personally. I would love it if he becomes a massive success coaching Kentucky.

And to the OP, I'm glad you had a great day and a great experience in Lexington! Merry Christmas to you and to all of BBN!

I sincerely enjoy everything you post. I sure don’t mind for Nochi or anyone to call me out on the right now comment which I guess I shouldn’t have said. But I sure love coach Pope and I hope he takes us to #9. Merry Christmas!
