If Beamer fails, maybe get the HC job?
To coach in the playoffs next year. Duh.
With Decker and Beck under consideration I would say no. He's peaked at TCU. But in a twisted way it makes sense. He was at Arkansas when Beamer hired Loggains.
Briles is one of the top OC's in the country. that would be a home run hire
Give Beams the checkbook.
My second choice would be JD Baker.
But give Beams the checkbook before he goes to see Briles.
Take it and run.
And watch all the posters who whined about getting a "name" hire suddenly get in board.
Donati will pay what it takes to get Briles away from his old stomping ground.
You know how else came from TCU? The taters' OC... he also had similar numbers and awards when they signed him. NO THANK YOU. Lets keep looking.

As I've said many times, OL and S&C Coordinator, according to Urban Meyer, are the 2 most important staff positions on the football team.
Is there HC running the offense anyway? It seemed that way when the taters got their last OC there.
Damn if it doesn't look like Briles is the #1 candidate. Never thought this could possibly happen.

We seem to be lacking in the same area. Hope there are some changes in the OL situation.
Right now Briles isn't part of a dumpster fire or anything. Why would he come here at this time? Unless there is an "understanding" that he will be our next HC.
Beamer should be required to submit all candidates to FGF for approval before finalizing any contracts.
This year, TCU is ranked 94th in rushing offense. In 2024, they finished 114th.
That is a huge red flag.
