Damn, bucket! That is a mighty fine backyard court you got. I'd probably be in the NBA by now with that sorta set up.

Is that Air Bud?

I've been thinking about getting another dog recently. We had to put our last dog down last year due to health reasons. We got him from the Kentucky Humane Society. We only had him for about a little over a year before he became real sick. That is the second pet we have gotten from there that we only had for a short time. The other was a cat that was with us for a couple years and her liver failed and had to be put down. So due to my bad luck with the Humane Society and getting an animal that you don't know the full history of it, I am leaning towards finding a different option this time.

Any sites you all recommend to look for a puppy? Most of the sites I've found just link you to shelters. I wouldn't mind getting a full blooded dog, but most people want ridiculous amounts of money for them. I don't care if they have special bloodlines or if they are born from show dogs. I just want a healthy animal that can spend a bunch of years with our family. The Humane Society actually wants like $300 for a mutt (nothing wrong with being a mutt, just using that for non full blooded). I know it costs a lot for the shelter to take care of the animals, but I've seen some full blooded animals for less than that.

So far the best site I've found that isn't for shelter dogs is just using Craigslist, but I don't know how much I trust using that. It seems like many are using other people's photos or have the same story for getting rid of the animals. Any other sites you all know of and trust? I'd probably want to get a puppy that will be around a small or medium sized dog for around $200 or so. It doesn't have to be full blooded as long as I know it came from healthy parents and was well taken care of.

Some observations here at your living spaces.

Spears- Is that a fake fireplace?

Blueballz- Do you live in a high end hotel?

Mash- Shocked at the hardwood floors, figured you were a vinyl guy

If I win the lottery I swear I will upgrade 420 Grover's kitchen.

Old 1960 bulllshit. Soon as I get enough money for some nice patterned vinyl, that wood is gone.

I got mine from BarkTown Rescue in Bardstown, KY. Great operation far as I could tell. The lady in charge was very helpful. I told her what dog traits I was looking for - super friendly and active dog, young, but somewhat learnt - and she nailed it. Fees were like 120ish, but she was spayed, up to date, plus she had a little eyelid issue they took care of when they got her. I was very pleased.

Left: Gracie. Rescue Dog. Mix of Jack Russell and we think Chihuahua. She's a real pain in the ***. Perpetual 13-year gold girl with an attitude. But we love her anyways.

Right: Olive. Australian Sheppard. She actually passed away a few months ago. Smarter than some posters here. We actually trained her to close the door, pick up crab apples and put them in a bucket, fetch the paper, etc.

I don't think I'll ever get another dog that isn't a working/herding class dog. Their only downside is they are skiddish around people they don't know.. which I'm fine with, they can bite any that isn't me for all I care.

I love Norman. Beautiful chocolate creature.

Pooh Bear looks like a master fatass. Rip. I like the way he's owning that bed. ***** where's my tea and crumpets, I am master breed.

I like the idea of wiener dogs, I just have never been close to one in the wild. They bark their head off and won't let me get close. I just want to rub your elongated belly, I am not a threat. Promise. I bet they're very loyal.

Mine passed away a several years ago. I've thought about getting another one, but can't bring myself to do it. I miss the companionship, but the loss is really hard.

She was a Cane Corso that my ex-wife bought while we were in Sicily. We split and I got the dog and cat. She was the biggest baby, and so loving. She grew to 90 lbs and still though she was a lap dog. She died the night UK won't the NCAA tournament...worst night of my life.

@JasonSpear I thought cave's were underground and lofts were above?

Lineskicat,

Yes, she is an Aussie. Very smart but surprisingly very lazy. Previous dog was an Aussie/Border mix.

My sister has a long hair dachshund and it would be the only small dog I would consider. She is just kind of funny.
