Chris Collins:

On the game: Obviously for us it's a disappointing loss. It wasn't about effort or attitude, we got in a bit of foul trouble with Vic [Law] in the first half, I want our guys to continue to be confident, and we got a number of looks, but overall we weren't able to make them pay. It's frustrating, I feel for the guys, no one likes losing.

On the scoring: It's hard because if you hold teams in their fifties in this conference, to hold them that low, it was not about our defense, it was about our inability to score the ball. A lot of times it's a make or miss type deal. The other night we made these shots.

On the penultimate shot by Law: He's right in the middle of the lane, I'd take that shot all day.

On the team's rebounding: They're big, they're physical, I thought we did a better job in the Iowa game of gang-rebounding, we got spread out tonight.

On the team's confidence: At times, I thought they did in the Iowa game. The one thing I want is for it not to be predicated on their first shot or first couple shots. They all wanna win, we have a tendency to get inward, we have to help each other get out of it. They need to stay upbeat, to keep fighting. You can lay down on the season or you can dig down and fight. There's no doubt what my guys in that locker room are going to do.

On the last possession: Got in the lane and missed the layup.

On the team's execution: Decent but not good enough to win.

A.J. Turner

On the feeling in the locker room: We know the opportunity we have ahead of ourselves, we have seven games, this one was tough but we have to focus on Nebraska.

Those two that just came in the room could not have seemed more dejected.

Especially Vic. Really feel for him. He's been a great NU player, sad to see his last season go this way. The 2 minute news conference was painful to watch.

I wouldn't blame the team and seniors for essentially giving up at this point. They know what they are and what they can be, which is not good enough due to the roster composition. It is not their faults that there is not a single B1G ready PG on the team. They've been put in a generally awful spot due to a combination of bad luck and bad decisions in recruiting. Disappointing two seasons since the highest point in NU BBall history. Next season becomes critical for turning this around quick before the whole program is in a dangerous spot. Without Law and Pardon, the staff has their work cut out. Need to find another PG in the transfer market that can truly contribute. Must develop a starting big man. Kopp, Nance, and Beran need to grow up fast. Yikes, that is a lot to ask for
