- It wasn't perfection, but the offensive line had their best game of the season today. There were holes big enough for Fitty to run through out there. It gave our two stud RBs the opportunity to shine and boy did they ever. If this is an offensive dimension we can consistently count on, we'll be giving Baylor a run for nation's best offense.

- The defense played damn good today considering the two turnovers that gave Tech the ball around OU's 30 yd line both times, and that we lost Sanchez on the first series. Rotating that defensive line is paying off exponentially. Charles Walker continues to stand out to me.

- Good job young Mr. Dakota Autin. He held his own and was solid making tackles after the catch. Hard to ask for much more from an inexperienced player forced in that early in a game against a team that throws the ball all over the place.

- A solid day from the passing game when we didn't need much from them. Still would like to see Mark Andrews more involved. The guy is absolute money in the bank. His future is retina scorching.

- Sad to see Seibert miss but it was eventually gonna happen. Typical yank from a hash mark kick. You're only human, kid. Shake it off and do your thing.

- Note to Baker: If you're going to lock in on a receiver, make it Sterling. Dude has a unique ability to time his jumps and position his body in giving himself the advantage.

From the first play on we are w/o 3 D starters. If we are healthy and we play clean (no turnovers) we can win out. Not saying we will but I am not as pessimistic about the rest of the year as I was.

Yes we're missing some guys, but good teams play with the "next man up" mantra, and these guys have begun to do just that.

I continue to preach that we have more talent than many, including Sooner fans, don't give us credit for. Said talent, however, has failed to blossom. This isn't just a "this season" thing I'm speaking of, and I think the majority of the problem has been effort.

Something changed after that loss to Texas. I can't really describe it, but the best thing I can say is that I've seen a different attitude the last two weeks that I haven't seen with consistency, especially as a team, in a long time.

I believe we only punted once. The Sooners were 10-13 on third down conversions and one of one on fourth down conversions. We had the missed FG, so that leaves only one other fourth down play in the whole game.

My recollection, Plaino, was 2 punts. On our very first offensive series of the game and then once again in the 2nd half.

Not saying I'm right, just what my memory tells me.

If you're right, then the official site's stats are wrong.

That's why the stats on ESPN.com show as well. It shows 1 for 57, and I remember that one being the touchback punt in the 2nd half, but I'm almost certain we punted on our first possession of the game.

Hmm.

And you would be correct. We did punt on our first possession.

The offense did what it should have been able to do today against a weak Tech defense. FWIW, I still have reservations about Mayfield. He's a gamer, for sure, but still holding the ball too long. Hopefully he'll continue to improve. The bright spot of the day for me was the defense. Holding those guys to 27 points is a good day, especially after losing Zach right off the bat. I read somewhere that going into the game, Tech had 29 or 30 plays this year for over 30 yards. Today, they had none.
If the D can stay healthy and the offense continues to get better, 10-2 is a real possibility.

I take it all back.... I just went through all of the play by plays and we only punted on our first possession.

I didn't record it V or I woulda done the same.

I must've had faulty memory from the 5 pounds of smoked brisket and ribs at halftime.

You just had to say that, didn't you!? I didn't record it, either. I just looked up the game log and went through the play by play. We scored every possession of the 2nd half. I love that two back set with Samaje and Mixon.... gives the defense a lot to think about.

Got us a pretty good ball club right now.
(just got back from Norman...very tired, been up since 6 AM)

No, this was a quality win in every respect, except for our stud kicker missing that chip shot field goal, first one, I'll forgive him this time.

Remember, this is a Tech team that almost beat that paper tiger TCU last week. So, in light of that, OU did very well thank you.

I can't wait to see the hi-light of Perine channeling Earl Campbell on that one run...just awesome.

Enjoy this one fellows, this is the reason we're OU fans.:D

13-1 is also a real possibility, just less so than 10-2. At this point, I'm not sure which team OU is supposed to fall to. I suppose that the team doesn't know which one, either.

Can't argue with that... just need to go 1 and 0 for five Saturdays in a row. I'm sure that's the way the coaches are approaching it. As a fan, those last three look tough, especially with two of them on the road.

I love that the big games are at the end.
I'm not a scheduling savant. Do they make the XII schedule yearly, or is it planned far in advance like the OOC games? Is it just coincidence? My guess is the former is correct.

Last week, I wanted KState to beat Texas. No deep thought went into that...It's Texas, you know? But after hearing the pundits talk about the number of 1-loss teams that may win their conferences, we really need Texas to kick some butt going down the stretch to help our chances. Utah going down to USC was very good for us.

We won't know the next Big XII schedule until the off season. So they must constantly tweak it to schedule the most possible deciding matchups in November. That's a must without a CCG. Even so, it requires a lot of thought and they do a really good job at it.

I know right, I went to up the night before hit Brick town. Then was up at 6am. Had a blast. Wasn't in our normal section22 seats, but the seats where just as great as the alumni Band and our bruising running game.

Ya I said the same right after the loss to Texas. Nearly all conference champions will most likely have 1 loss. The one team that gets left out, it may literally come down to which team has the ugliest loss that gets left out of the playoff. So yes...OU needs Texas to win out and make OUs loss to them look worse than it was at the time.
