Calipari sucks. He’s done less with more than any coach in the history of sports.
He’s also the most unlikable CBB coach in history.

I’m so glad he’s gone. I love Pope. He get’s what UK Basketball, and the tradition, and our fans want.

I hope it was worth it Reed.
You realize he was wearing UK shorts right? He represented his school and his coach. He didn't choose a side. Calm down about a 19 year old that pretty much walked out wearing a "house divided" doormat. It's not that serious. The moment, you and many with the same stance, are using as an example of him not being a wildcat anymore, he literally had UK on his body, in the picture for everyone to see.

I think he's just getting done. Everyone else called it quits(except Pitino) even Jay Wright and he was young. Glad he left and we got Pope, when he retires really doesn't matter to me.

He's not connecting with any of them anymore you're right
He must still be connected to DJ Wagner, considering he'll be a Junior this year. Especially considering we all know if Cal had stayed at UK, he would've pushed DJ out the door to the NBA after his Freshman year and our Cal apologists would've been saying, "well DJ is what he is, a tweener, who will never be a great shooter and got better at the end of the year so he needs to leave now while the iron is hot."

But now that Cal is desperate to win at Arkansas and prove everyone wrong, he is encouraging these kids to stay in school. Cal says he now wants a 4-4-2 model, meaning 4 returnees, four freshmen and two transfers. Sounds like what UK fans were asking for jackass. Nobody is winning squat with all freshmen anymore. Too bad he got that memo too late at UK.

The makeup of his team doesn’t matter anymore. 2021 and 2022 our teams were 80% upperclassmen and we won one tournament game both years combined. It’s his archaic coaching style.

Calipari took the done less with more crown from Dean Smith. But Dean did stumble into a couple of NCAA titles. I am so thankful Calipari is no longer Kentucky's coach.

Cool, walk out wearing a half US Flag and half Iranian flag shirt and see how divided loyalty goes for you. One gave you everything the other… He’s a traitor.

Honestly, it was a BS headline. He said he wanted to impact 25-30 more families before he hangs it up and he still has the desire to coach but then it was "if I can't impact players then it might be my last year" which is just another sales pitch from him that he's still open for business if anybody's buying.

Representing his school and coach at the same time is nothing like wearing an Iranian flag.... again, it's not as serious as a murderous regime...

His only connection to Wagner is that Wagner isn't that good and thinks Cal is the only one that can fast-talk some NBA GM into giving him a contract.

Allow me to translate: "If winning is going to be as hard as it was last year, it might be my final year."
Sadly they returned the core guys who made them good. Obviously they still will struggle shooting it but they played his prototypical defense and rebounding that his best teams played.

On the previous board, i posted he wouldn't be at Arkansas more than 3 years. I really think had he not gone on that ncaa tournament run thanks to an ungodly good draw, he would've hung it up after 1.

I could tell it in his initial welcome press conference. You could tell he and brad wanted to be anywhere else. They walked off without calling the hogs because they think they're too good to be there.

Honestly after that gift run he should've left. He could've said he still had it and it would've been at least reasonably close to true.

BBN may be better off with him at Arkanass. If he retires God forbid some network makes him a sports analyst, because he might feel so inclined to nonchalantly throw shade at UK. This group will lose their minds.

For a long time, probably a decade, I've said Cal wouldn't retire until he had 1000 wins. The vacated wins and some poor seasons has made that difficult but if he gets to 950 i dont think his ego will allow him to retire. I could be wrong but that's my take on it.

I said when he left he wouldn't be Arkansas long at all and that's a popular opinion in several circles. The only reason Calipari went to Arkansas was to finish the lifetime contract he swindled his way into. Calipari cares less about Arkansas than Memphis and we see how much he even cared about them. He probably thinks it's funny that they relentlessly hated him and he flipped the script but other than that he's strictly there for the money. And also this is what Calipari does everywhere he goes. He likes to insinuate he "doesn't have to be there" and he can leave at any moment, and will leave any time he feels like it; essentially that's why he even states this line everywhere he goes. He's always taking passive attack insinuations. Loves to throw it to all the fans and university brass that he's not there because of them at all. " I am only here because of X, and universities, alumni, and fans are nowhere close to X", I can leave you at any moment. Also seems to really believe he's so good you can't replace his system.

And that's textbook definition of narcissistic personality disorder. All the way down to relationships as evident by everyone hating him at every place he's been including guys like RC Johnson and Mitch Barnhart, and most in NBA circles. Even some of his most hardened supporters here hate him now, lol. As has been said for many years, it was always going to happen.

These comments are just more textbook NPD behavior patterns. Look at me, I'll leave you no problem, you're lucky I am here anyway, I'm only here for the recruits (my meal ticket). It's why I love what happened to him here because he didn't really want to leave and even tried to accept defeat, but Barnhart knew because of the NIL he could afford to lose him. We can buy the players now, coach doesn't matter. The brand means as much as the coach in this climate because it's about money.
