I actually met Pryor...I'm from Cincy as well.

Pryors pro fights were probably not a whole lot different from what he grew up doing in the streets of the West End in Cincinnati. In other words, never stop throwing and continue until somebody goes down and gives up.

The thing about Pryor is he was supposed to have some big fights that didn't happen for one reason or another. He was supposed to fight Sugar Ray Leonard, but didn't because he wanted more money. He was supposed to fight him a second time, but Sugar Ray got hurt the match before/ He never fought him. He was supposed to fight Roberto Duran, and didn't because of some bad advice he got. He never fought him. I was a little young when Pryor was boxing, but outside of Arguello, did he beat anyone of significance in their prime?

Also if Holyfield had spent his career as a cruiser-weight (his natural class), I don't know who could have beaten him. Still had a really good run as a small heavy weight.

Sad that you have to include the last 50 years to come up with names of 5 decent boxers. Ask the same question about the last 10 years and no one here could name ANY 5 boxers, let alone favorites.

However, I personally don't miss boxing at all. MMA is a far more entertaining sport with better athletes.

I left Floyd off because he never had to fight anyone of the level of those on this list. Lots of heavyweights have to be left off due to the pound for pound issue. A young Tyson really belongs on the list. He was a terror until the people around him played one too many mind games with him. If you younger guys haven't watched his fights or a young Roy Jones/Sugar Ray/Hopkins or Hagler, you should look it up on youtube.
