I think this is one of the best written songs of all time. One of my very favorites:

We met in a bar
Out on Chesapeake Bay
With her white patent boots
And her blouse red lame

A table top dancer
She would smile on cue
Oh those lips of an angel
Angel in blue

She'd been dancin for ages
Through cities of bars
She was kickin' the habit
Of scoring in cars

She'd been drained of her spirit
All caged up in this zoo
A wild cat angel
Angel in blue

And as she stared out into nowhere
I thought yes I thought she might break down and cry
Oh when I whispered I thought I could love her

She just said, "Baby don't even bother to try"
And I watched as she spoke
Her words chilled my bones
All her friends did her favors

That were really just loans
And she never had dreams
So they never came true
Oh the palest of angels
Angel in blue

And the bees they had stung her
The birds they had flown
There were guys she could number
But none had she known

And she never had dreams
So they never came true
Oh my fade away angel

Angel in blue
Angel in blue
Angel in blue
Angel in blue

Supreme Lord Z, you need some education about what a power ballad is. None of the songs you listed qualify, except, I guess, the Foreigner one. Think hard rock or metal band doing a sappy ballad with a big guitar solo.

I don't know any other Queensryche songs but this probably qualifies. It was definitely in the 1991-ish MTV morning lineup nearly every day.

Poison - "Every rose has it thorn"
Kiss - "I still Love you."
Motley Crue "Don't go away mad."
GNR "Knocking on heavens door."
GNR "Patience."
Firehouse "Don't treat me bad."
Cinderella "Nobodies fool."
White Lion "Wait."

Just to name a few that was not listed.

Acoustic ballad I agree, but Vinnie Vincent's guitar work on "I still love you" is just off the chain. Go back and give it a listen, and Paul Stanley sings that **** from the heart.

Damn, didn't know there was other KISS fans around. Usually people make wise jokes about em or whatever. If you can play that song on geetar I am impressed. Never mind, you was talking about the playing the song, not the riffs.

Damn, you are as big of a fan as I. Saw them for my 12 birthday, my older brother took me. Judas Priest opened up (1980ish) think it was the Dynasty tour. I had all kinds of memorabilia everything from a Peter Criss drum stick and Gene Simmons pick that I caught during a concert, all of it burned up in my house years later. Probably went to 8-9 concerts, none in the last 25 years. Yeah, they need to hang it up, put them out to pasture, let dying dogs die, all of the cliché's fit.

What is your favorite KISS song performed live ??? Studio ?

Isn't Free Bird considered a power ballad? Gotta think it's one of the best if it is. Maybe more of a rock anthem. Or maybe I'm just showing my age!

Been a KISS fan since I was 7 looking at all my dad's albums and tapes, saw em live 6 times, caught a song-played Paul Stanley guitar pick during their Farewell Tour in Louisville, have read the autobiographies of Gene, Paul, and Ace and have Gene's and Paul's autographed, met Paul when he came to the public library in BG in 2014, and wish they would go the **** ahead and hang it up. It's embarrassing at this point. They're playing like 5,000 seat arenas.

I have boxes of KISS **** in my attic from action figures to posters to magazines I've collected since I was a little kid. My first Rivals screen name was Paul Caravello, Eric Carr's real name.

Believe it or not, my 17 year old daughter is an insane KISS fan.

We took her to some county fair years ago, and there was a KISS tribute band from Harlan playing there. Those guys put on a great show, and she was hooked.

We've took her to the KISS Fan Expo in Indianapolis the last 2 years where she got to meet Eric Singer and Tommy Thayer.

Took her to meet Gene at a comic book show in Louisville a couple of years ago.

Actually taking her to see Ace Frehley in Indianapolis this weekend, and 2 weeks later to see KISS in Huntington, WV.

Not sure there is another band that has the kind of following that KISS does.

Status Quo in Europe enjoys a similar following. They've been around since at least 1969 in their present form. My 19 y/o German nephew is crazy about 'em.

FYI, Ace Frehley is playing at the Mercury Ballroom in Louisville on August 30th. That is a small 900 person venue.
