2001 Cincinnati riots should be definitely be pretty high up on the list. Lasted 3 or 4 days.

"And then <sniff sniff> they told me they would 'turn me out', I don't <sniff sniff> even know what that means, I just wanted an interview"

"Shhhhhhh it's ok honey...let's go back to the hotel, get some chocolate milk"

I feel like you have to give the nod to Cincinnati. They were race rioting before race rioting was cool again.

2011 and on is just different sides of the same coin - media driven riots fueled with professional rioters and people who are mad they don't get the government handouts and attention on social media they think they deserve.

One mark against Cincinnati in the race riot power rankings is the gentrification that's taken place in the neighborhoods that were rioting. But then again, if you're ranking riots, destroying your own community to the point where a concerted effort is made to build it back up from ground zero, without you, might score a point in the power rankings.

Lexington, 1994. Truly a scary time for the downtown workers who hadn't got off work early. My UKCC email account was blowing up with reports of the angry mob making its way through the center of the city. I believe a few Corollas and Tercels were dinged up by rocks and people in traffic were slightly inconvenienced. Frightening.

I'm ranking the whole of Occupy at the top for longevity and motive. Believe it or not, I actually appreciate both Occupy and the D.C. Teabagger hoedown (yeah, it counts as one too) more than the others by a big margin. Both were almost entirely peaceful and based on political viewpoint. Love them or hate them, these make a difference. Here's that sweet sweet applicable pic..

I rank Ferguson third. Everyone got on one side or the other and both were wrong. They needed to be out there over departmental corruption (policing for profit) instead of a thug reaping what he was'a sowing.
