Different opinions I suppose. I met him at that game too. Talked to him in the hallway. He couldn't have been more polite. Only time I ever met him. The NBA had the lock out is why he was there. We talked a little about that and a little about UK.

I remember going to the blue/white scrimmage in memorial in October of ‘95 (the 96 champ team). Ron was a freshman playing with all these upperclassmen and he was just effortless out there. Silky smooth like he wasn’t even trying. Never made a mistake. Even as a 12 year old I knew we were gonna win it all right then and there. Five months later he dropped 20 on Syracuse.

Mercer was so good. Fuzz, maybe it’s a you thing?

But seriously one thing that really jumps out is how few mistakes they made. Very few dumb plays if any. Coach P held them to a high *** standard and damn was it effective.

Not sure what Fuzz is on but he was a neighbor of my cousins and has always been one of the nicest guys you’ll meet. Maybe fuzz was short a few addy’s that day. It’s called cognitive restructuring. You have to add and weigh the evidence that they’re actually doing what you think they’re doing. Many times over u the ******* after evidence weighed.

Incident - you interpret an ***hole

* what is the evidence he’s an ***hole?
____ cognitive restructure——

* I’m the ***hole.

I've heard less than glowing things about Ron from that same era, and had a few experiences with other players that fell into the "don't meet your heroes" category. With that said, a lot of these guys mellow out when their playing days are behind them, and treat us peasants with a lot more respect when they've had some time to reflect. A buddy of mine said he ran into Ron at the SECT a few years back in Nashville and said he was a cool dude. I've also read that a lot of players peruse the message boards and see the good and bad things we all have to say.

I waited to almost halftime for a break in the game before I bothered to ask him to sign my hat,, I think it was.. Didn't want to bother him while the game was being played.. Pretty sure he was getting ready to leave and that's when I asked him.. Never did see him after that.. A buddy of mine knew a student trainer or someone like that and we got JP Blevins family tickets.. I could stand straight up and touch the roof was so high up,, behind the goals I think.. Family tix back then really sucked.. May still do..

that’s really surprising. I’ve been around him many times and he’s always been a really good guy. But also not surprised at the same time, young hot shot athlete who thinks he’s the next Jordan with name recognition for his time to boot. I could see it. He’s definitely not that way now. Seems he might have grown up from that type of thing.

what about it. It’s Morg, they gave me a new name and an inmate number when it switched. Changed it to Morgousky then it switched it to this, a name I’ve never heard of.

I’ve been called worse things than Kentucky.

Idk you never know what someone is doing at that moment. I’m sure he gets lot of attention that maybe he wants to chill in certain moments. Probably didn’t mean it personally.

I’m sure that is true, maybe in that time he felt like he should be paid for everything he did. Looking back maybe he feels differently now and that he should have had more respect for those who helped put him in that position.

Nope,, I asked him for an auto and he said he doesn't do freebies for anyone.. Guess he's gotta pay for the big *** gold basketball around his neck some way.. He could drop dead today and I'd smile & laugh..
All because he wouldn’t give you an autograph over 25 years ago? Yikes...

Kevin Knox had a great freshman season.

He was average compared to other OAD under Calipari. Never once thought of him as great. He had really good moments. AD and Randle were great.

Randle to this day is the most under appreciated player in UK history as far as I’m concerned, but I digress.

Never understood why someones signature would mean anything to someone. I would never ask anyone to ”sign something “ for me . Just seems bizarre.

I would never argue that he was better than AD or Randle.

But he was very, very good.

Constant movement off the ball. He got drafted top 10 without top 10 talent.

For most of the season he was our best player. SGA was by the end but Knox was steady all year.

Certainly PJ became better. But not his freshman year.

That could have been a special team had we ever had a healthy Vanderbilt.
