Idk you never know what someone is doing at that moment. I’m sure he gets lot of attention that maybe he wants to chill in certain moments. Probably didn’t mean it personally.
Just a guess, but, maybe was just moody. Sometimes felt like being nice, sometimes not.
All could be true interactions with him.

Mercer was smooth. Just wonder how dominant he could have been if he had played hard. Maybe he was playing hard, but was so smooth that it did not appear he was.

What is he doing now? Last I read, he was going to be an assistant coach @ UL for Pitino

I would never argue that he was better than AD or Randle.

But he was very, very good.

Constant movement off the ball. He got drafted top 10 without top 10 talent.

For most of the season he was our best player. SGA was by the end but Knox was steady all year.

Certainly PJ became better. But not his freshman year.

That could have been a special team had we ever had a healthy Vanderbilt.

They had the tournament open up for them like no other. That Kansas state game was a disastrous coaching job. Could’ve been playing Loyola to go to the final four. Would’ve been very cathartic after the 2017 screw job but we blew it.

Also, an entertainer/actor not signing an autograph? Totally get calling them out. But I don’t see that with an athlete. Their job is to be good at a sport, and they might be shy or introverted or private, I don’t fault them for not signing crap. If I was good enough to be an NBA player like I dreamed of as a kid there would be tons of stories about how awful I am as I’m very private and would absolutely hate random strangers coming up to me.

Kevin Knox had one great college game that I remember. Mercer was Jordan compared to him lol.
One game where he probably ignored Cal and just did his thing. Seems like a lot of his players that didn’t pan out would have that one where they’d blow up for 25 a couple months before they’d leave.

Reminds me of that game UNC game. He wanted them to drive the ball and Monk said nah and jacked a 30 footer to put us ahead for good.

Yeah, Cal telling PJ to miss all those free throws was malpractice.

As a coach you have to recognize when a player is rattled, in their head, a mess etc and try some different options to take pressure off that player and put the team in the best position to win. He had SGA (current NBA MVP) and to your point Kevin Knox. He drew up the final play to have Quade Green take a 30 footer 😂

Just messing with you. It was a terrible game. I was there. The bracket had opened up.

Should have been a cakewalk to the FF.
