Have they replaced Doritos as the best chip? I say yes. Particularly the garlic parmesan. I originally started buying them to eat with beer cheese which does make them a little better but came to find out they do just fine on their own. Expensive I know but well worth it.

No. Garden Salsa and Harvest Cheddar Sunchips are better. Although I must admit the Garlic Parmesan pretzel crisps are the only ones I've had and they are good. I'm not much of a garlic or parmesan fan, however.
My go to for beer cheese is plain Bugles. First you do this:
Then you use a spoon and do this:
I like the taste and it keeps me from eating all the beer cheese.
I like the pretzel chips by themselves just fine. I sometimes have them with plain tuna for an easy lunch.
