With due respect to Berry, it would sure be nice to poach a pure situational spot up shooter who could drain shots in the tournament like those Princeton guys from the portal

The dude that wore the Horace Grant goggles!Well Blake Peters went to ETHS…
...and considering Harvard admissions is very flexible when it comes to top talent. On a side note, it's been 8 yrs since Harvard has made the Tourney (7 if you take away the canceled season).
As expected, the bloom has certainly come off Amaker.
While all of this is true, Princeton won 2 games against high major teams all season (both in the tournament). In fact, they didn't even play a high major team until Arizona on Thursday, but they still lost 8 games. They ended the year NET 111.Princeton reached the Sweet Sixteen despite losing 4 important players to the transfer portal (due to the Ivies capping eligibility to 4 yrs).
Don't want to hear about how NU can't compete due to the lack of athleticism (getting good shooters in a good system can go a long ways in making up for that).

Taking a 2 game tournament run from a mid-major and extrapolating that to a high major isn't really a good analogy IMO. **** happens in a 2 day tournament vacuum and, minus Gonzaga, none of these upstarts ever replicate their feat and do this consistently.
Princeton is a solid ball club that can certainly beat you when things are on for them and off for the opponent. But, they are probably about what their NET 111 ranking suggests. Princeton didn't have a prayer of making the tournament in a high major conference. I'd rather not emulate that. Even getting to the tournament is a completely different animal in the B1G compared to a mid major.
I can get on board with that. All I’m asking for is another shooter!
Look man, I don't get how this is still up and my sweet Danny Devito coming out of a couch naked got removed. What do you have on cappy?
Agree with both of these statements - and I wonder whether they're related. And the sad thing is that they were getting good, makeable shots, but just couldn't knock them down... which was a problem all year long. Being an elite defensive team will keep you in games, even against good or even great teams, but if you can't score you'll eventually have a problem.
And both of Pierce's parents were varsity athletes at.....NU.....He is from Glenbard WestWell Blake Peters went to ETHS…
Asked and answered.my sweet Danny Devito coming out of a couch naked
They had an advantage when he got there and they started with using their endowment to basically give scholarships to anyone they wanted, but others in the Ivies caught up to what they were doing and advantage gone...and considering Harvard admissions is very flexible when it comes to top talent.
You need athleticism at certain positions. Especially PGPrinceton reached the Sweet Sixteen despite losing 4 important players to the transfer portal (due to the Ivies capping eligibility to 4 yrs).

Good point about our depth: agree that it certainly would be a factor on this dynamic as well. Yet another reason I would really like to see Buie and Audige come back.RK, I agree with your premise, but think our lack of depth (something Cronin specifically pointed out in his halftime interview when he talked about their continuing to put pressure on our guards bringing the ball up the court) was a major contributor to our tired legs and the natural effect on our shooting percentages. Watching the FAU-FDU game yesterday, with both coaches changing out 2, 3, and even 4 players at a time was quite the eye opener. I thought our team looked good at multiple times this season pressing our opponent full court. But the physical toll that extending your defense to 90' was simply not possible with the state of our bench. A few more minutes on the bench resting could pay real benefits on both sides of the ball...
No worries manApologies for hastily reading and misinterpreting your initial post.
How is delivering a baby related to BB?
Agreed, Ty was nearly always good and helpful defensively, on the boards and moving the ball on offense. On top of this, while he is plenty of bad shooting nights he almost always took good shots. He wasn’t out there trying to throw up junk, he was out snapping off the wide open threes our offense opened up to him with some frequency.Ty showed a lot of mettle as a defender and a rebounder despite the inconsistent shooting. He has a good handle too. I think he could develop a mid-range game if needed and his offensive role is to change.
Not sure that’s true on either counts. You don't do either in high heels.
I am strictly bound by a good vibes-only moral code. And no Danny Devito boobs. Got to toe the line. Not sure that’s true on either counts.

But the thing is, UCLA's Guards played 39 and 38 minutes, so that pretty much is a wash with the NU tandem playing 39 and 35, no? And NU outscored the UCLA Guards 34-26. Wait - which guards? UCLA ran a four G lineup. Granted a couple are as much a guard as our own BB but still…But the thing is, UCLA's Guards played 39 and 38 minutes, so that pretty much is a wash with the NU tandem playing 39 and 35, no? And NU outscored the UCLA Guards 34-26. Just sayin'
Maybe it was more about talent than minutes. Face it, UCLA had better Jimmies and Joes. Credit to NU for playing as close as they did.
