Okay has anyone ever gotten a f’n HP printer to work? I’ve had two now never buying another one.

What are some good printer options for pictures work, etc. what are you using.

Get a b/w laser printer for work stuff and send personal pics to Walgreens. Forget wireless, Bluetooth, or any of that stuff. If it can’t connect via USB, don’t get it. Those are all solutions to problems that didn’t exist.

Walgreens has dozens of coupon codes out there, so you’ll never pay full price.

I’m going to take this advice to the bank for sure.

Funny you mention this….My son and I are taking this printer to our land tomorrow. I’ve already wrapped it in about 20 lbs of tannerite to see it go up in smoke.

My stupid *** spent 8 hours trying to get this thing to work and my anger towards this printer is at unhealthy levels. I thought about making a Reddit post or coming here.

For my home use I bought a Brother B/W laser printer on the rec of one of our IT guys at work several years ago. It is wireless capable but I just use the USB cord. It works good for printing out anything that just needs to be printed. Was inexpensive too.

They don’t f’n work at all. Wireless HP’s pure trash. I’ve lost like 250 bucks so far I’m done with this crap.

If you tell me what's wrong with it, and what specifically isn't working.. I/someone/the internet may be able to help you.

Printers are annoying in IT: They are the one thing that has a mechanical aspect (fusers, rollers, gears), and troubleshooting that stuff is it's own animal when it comes to "working with computers".

.. but, home printers really dont need much to make them work. I find it hard to believe you bought TWO lemon HP printers. HP sucks (mine from work takes like 2 minutes of clicking and clanking just to print).. but they do generally work.

It won’t connect to the internet at all, nothing can recognize it, and it’s a total pain in the ***. I have it wrapped in tannerite I’m sending this thing home tomorrow. The one before it had the same problem. I went through a lot of **** trying to get it going and thought it was just a lemon. Well now this one is doing the same thing. It worked for a little while, now nothing. Believe it because here it is.

Grom just a random thought...

What kind of WiFi do you have? For example if you have a 5ghz connection but not a 5ghz capable printer it won't connect to WiFi.

This could happen after getting a new connection but old device isn't compatible.

Im not sure. But this one was working fine until a few days ago and just stopped connecting or being recognized. I’ve got AT&T internet.

Reboot router? Hard reset printer?

Usually that stuff fixes it. If you got a new router you would know obviously. So unless there was some sort of update that you weren't aware of it is probably something pretty simple but not obvious.

I rarely have problems. My biggest issue was that I had to remember to put my phone on the 2.4ghz channel on my wifi since that is what the printer is connected with. It won't connect to 5ghz.

Even getting a color laser is more economical than any inkjet in the long run. Inkjets are planned obsolescence, ink cartridges only last a short time if you use them or not. Toner lasts virtually forever. The USB is great advice too - you will always be able to print from a stick.

I’ve got a wireless hp printer/scan/copy i’ve had 5-6 years. bought it at best buy on sale for about $90. never had an issue with it. use generic ink cartridges from amazon. print from my ipad only since i got rid of my desktop and laptop years ago. i have to say i’ve gotten my money’s worth. connected to spectrum 300mbps.

Brother black and white document printer is where it’s at for home. Costs a little extra up front but you’ll save a ton on toner.

I replaced my router with a mesh router and afterwards, my HP2700 printer would not connect to the network. My HP46?? and Cannon wireless printer had no problem. I changed the security type to WPA-PSK and was able to connect A OK. I think it was originally WPA/WPA2 , which was recommended. Can't really remember, but I think I had to reconnect all my devices afterwards, which was a pain.
