Things didn't end too well but they are the equivalence of Shnurr, Fitz, Bates. A great season a year ago, and prolly were the final convincing piece that led NU to build the new arena. And certainly not at the astronomical prices. They gave us hope and we realized a dream by going to the NCAA's. I didn't think it would happen but it did. It was awesome. And it gives us hope in the future because of these 3 players.

As Bob Hope would have said, "Thanks for the memories".

Well, someone must have been pretty visionary, because the WRA renovation was announced in June, 2016, before the magic season of 2016-17 even began!!!!! The NCAA run had nothing to do with the renovation, but it makes for a good story.....more Fake News!! Dang!!!!

While they (and Law) will undoubtedly go down in NU BB history, let's not forget that last season wouldn't have happened w/o Lumpkin or Pardon.

And as I had stated prior - years from now, the player being seen as the grandfather of NU BB's rise to prominence will be Juice.

W/o Juice, there likely wouldn't have been Shurna or Crawford and w/o all 3 of them, there wouldn't have been that post-season run (altho, ultimately falling short each time) - and w/o that run, there likely wouldn't be CC.

And even if CC had decided to come to NU despite any semblance of success, he likely wouldn't have been able to garner the class he did in BMac, Law, etc.

I prefer to begin the line at Jitim. This has the added effect of putting Kevin O'Neill in his rightful position: as the true foundation of all that is good about Northwestern basketball, and humanity.

Just think that those kids choose NU because Collins was the new coach and not what took place in the last couple of seasons. That's just about what law's dad said.

Not a good analogy. Fitz, Schnur and Bates won back to back Big 10 championships and lost maybe one Big 10 game in two seasons. Obviously, this year’s seniors were nowhere as successful in their first season after their break through season. Also, Skelly did not contribute anything close to Fitz, Schnur or Bates. But nice try.

well said turk-y - i saw you in your courtside seats solo on senior night. kudos to you for being a great fan AND putting your money where your mouth is. it doesn't make you more than a fan than anyone else - but you certainly back it up. did you get to keep your courtside seats in new WR?

Loved Jitim, but Jitm, Tavaras and Co. never broke the program's modus operandi of stinking for a few years and then making it to the NIT w/ an upperclassmen-laden team.

In fact, while they had 2 decent seasons (at least when it came to B1G records), they never even made it to the post-season.

Juice was instrumental in getting 2 other local boys (Johnny and Drew) to come to NU.

Shurna and Crawford decided on NU b/c they believed the program could be a winning program; that wouldn't have been possible w/o someone like Juice already on the roster and running the show (plus, they were all familiar with each other).

While CC may have been the final impetus, it's human nature to require some reassurance.

It would have been quite a different for CC to be selling recruits that they can turn the program around and win at NU (despite no history of showing any kind of sustained success) as opposed to being the ones who can finally get the program over the hump.

And besides, Law's dad also stated they they were interested in NU for some time, they just didn't like the take it or leave it approach from BC's staff.
