How's this for a road trip?

Thursday, Oct 2, 49ers at Rams
Saturday, Oct 4, PSU at UCLA
Sunday, Oct 5, Commanders at Chargers

There's a chance the Dodgers or Angels will host a playoff game on Friday, Oct 3.
Now THAT would be as cool as it gets-especially with the potential baseball playoff game to really complete the grand slam. Add in some awesome food and a bit of the sights....maybe the beach? You have yourself an experience for the ages. You should do it.

The UCLA game should be a great early test for Penn State. They landed the young man from Tennessee at QB and have the offensive coordinator from Indiana last year calling the offense and coaching said QB.

Been to a UCLA game once (against ASU - 'Fun Devils' indeed) and had a great time. Think it was a 3pm EST kick so we were at the stadium (me and my Army/UCLA buddy) around 9am; grass on the golf course was still dewy, but the tailgating was great - margarita stands, In/Out Burger, and the UCLA alumni group was making omelets to order. Had a great time - would love to get back out there. After, we got tacos and cocktails; have yet to have Mexican street food as good as I've had in SoCal.....

Wait what? PSU is playing @ASU Hockey next year?
Yes. Unlike the B1G and PSU, other schools announce their schedules in a timely manner.

10/3-4 at ASU

Also, Clarkson is coming to Pegula next fall, the very next week, but Thurs-Fri before homecoming vs the Mildcats.

That’s two series against top 20ish programs, so hopefully the usual SoS caterwauling will be kept to a minimum.

Love it!

A few years ago when Penn State started the season at Purdue on Thursday night my son and brother and I did:

Thurs - Penn State @ Purdue
Fri - Western Michigan @ Michigan St
Sat - Colorado State @ Michigan
Sat Evening - Royals @ Tigers

Flew out of Boston Thurs AM and arrived home Sun afternoon having seen 3 CFB games and a baseball game. Epic.

✊Wandering Spectator approved! Well done.
We were at that game. We just spent a couple extra days in Chicago after.

Yes, it's exciting to see some solid opponents so far. I'm sure we'll have the regular dose of a few AHA games but these at least make a decent OOC schedule.

I think the games against Arizona St will be the first regular season games that PSU has scheduled against a NCHC team (they had a one off against North Dakota that was a showcase event not a normal scheduled series), which is great with that being the arguably strongest college hockey conference.

Edit: apparently, we also are playing Stonehill at home for 2 games in October. So that's 6 of the 10 games accounted for.

I love stuff like that. WELL DONE!

A few years ago after attending Penn State at Maryland on a Friday night, I drove down very early the next morning to Chapel Hill and saw Clemson at UNC in a nail-biter as #2 Clemson barely escaped with a W.

I recall, in my younger days, having a hot date on a Friday night, drove to Columbus Saturday morning for a Wisconsin at Ohio State night game, and checked out Sunday morning and drove straight to Heinz Field for New England at the Steelers game.

A noon and 8 p.m. kick could work for games at Michigan and Michigan State, at Pitt and West Virginia and in the Chapel Hill-Durham-Raleigh triangle.

They played the Devils in Arizona in 2017 too, but they weren't NCHC at the time.

Here's my writeup from that series.

To be clear, I'm not planning on going to the NFL games. I knocked Sofi off my list last year when the Bills lost a heartbreaker to the Rams. Just posted for those who might be interested in those teams or checking off the stadium.

The only parlay I'm considering this year is when the Bills play the Dolphins in Miami on Sunday, Nov 9th, and Syracuse plays at Miami on Saturday the 8th.

Not if ICE rounds everyone up. Then you will be paying gringo pricing. Best guess, $ 40.00/ taco.
if ICE starts rounding people up then i may not make it back from LA.

i am going to Montana two weeks before LA. I am more concerned about ICE there than LA.

But at least the tacos will be cheaper.

How difficult is it for people to make their own Street Dog Tacos? 🤷🏼‍♂️

The recipe couldn’t be easier.

Ingedients
* One diced yellow onion
* One spice pack of McCormicks Ancho Chili taco seasoning
* One pkg of small corn tortillas
* A few sprigs of chopped cilantro
* One lime cut into squeezable wedges
* One cup of mixed shredded cheeses (your choice)
* One (preferably dead) Street Dog. Chihuahua’s don’t serve many people so I recommend going with a caliejeross.

Tgar loved all the vendors surrounding The Coliseum last year for the USC game as well as the street vendors downtown on Friday night. Totally cool scene with seriously great food and sweet families hustling To make a buck. If those folks are in Pasadena, fingers crossed, Tgar is going to gorge like a king. Those hot dogs are incredible. All the food was sensational and the aroma of the charcoal, and grilled meats filling the air intoxicating.

the music was also festive.

I agree. LA street Dogs are a staple at sporting events and I’m sure they will be there. I always used to pass them by until I got the courage to try my first one.
